Screen shows no image for picture taking or playback

The battery is fully charged but all of a sudden all that now appears on the screen for playback or picture or movie taking are moving vertical colored lines. The screen appears unable to find an image. In picture taking mode when pointing the camera at a lighter source the colors change to almost clear white but again there is no image but moving clear white vertival lines.

Sounds like you may have a defective CCD sensor (the unit that generates the image as opposed to the screen that displays it). this could still be replace there are camera repair places that do it, but you have to have to weight your options with buying a new camera.

Canon 60D playback images turning up black

Did you switch to Tv (shutter mode) and took pictures for several seconds? like in the dark? Because saving the picture can take as long as the shutter time was.
Before panic. (Actually you never should panic) check your camera in automatic mode. And make sure you did not select any power save action, that puts your display on dark while shooting.
But always be sure your battery is charged and check its capacity. In the menu yo can check under the wrench symbol, when you select Battery info. Page 268 of the manual.
Working with a bad battery can damage the camera in the end.

How do I set my iPod touch to tell me how long it will be Recharge?

The iPod Touch, a portable media player from Apple, has an internal battery that will eventually run out of power while you reload. According to Apple, the iPod touch offers up to 40 hours of audio playback or up to seven hours of video playback when fully charged. The machine takes about two hours to recharge to 80 percent capacity, and about four hours to fully charge. Although the iPod Touch does not have an innate ability to tell you how long it will take to charge the battery today, you can create a free application that will give you an approximate time to load.

Preparation

1. Press the "Home" button below the touch screen of your iPod Touch.

2. Touch the "App Store" icon on the home screen.

3. Tap "Search" and enter a search term such as "Battery" and then "Search". Tap the name of an application results from the battery, such as "Battery Free HD", "Magic Battery" or "sense of battery Philips Consumer Lifestyle." Tap the word "free" next to the name of the application of the battery, and tap "Install. Tap your Apple ID at the prompt to download and install the application from the battery.

Battery Free HD

1. Screen black in all lighting. Icons and menu show and can view photos already on card, but screen black in all modes. Can take picture, but it is also black. Lens cover is open. Nikon Coolpix 4600. Thanks...

Hello, I went and researched a few points in the manual and hope this helps to some extent. If this doesn't help, try resetting your camera by removing the batteries for 30 seconds, then reinstalling them and turning on the camera again.
Monitor is blank:
• Camera is off.
• Batteries are not correctly inserted or battery-chamber
cover is not properly latched.
• Batteries are exhausted.
• EH-62B AC adapter (available separately) is not properly
connected.
• Camera is in sleep mode. Press shutter-release button
halfway.
• Monitor is off.
• USB cable is connected.
• AV/Video cable is connected

No picture is taken when shutter release button is pressed:

• Camera is in playback mode.
• Batteries are exhausted.
• Red (!) lamp flickers: flash is charging.
• Green (AF) lamp flickers: camera unable to focus.
• Message "CARD IS NOT FORMATTED" appears in
monitor: memory card is not formatted for use in your
camera.
• Message "OUT OF MEMORY" appears in monitor:
insufficient memory to record picture at current Image
mode setting.

Sony A100 - Buttons won't work

This sounds odd, I know, but I found a solution that worked for me. I had exactly the same problem: picture taking was wonky, menu button, playback button wouldn't work. It would do this immediately upon starting up, every time.
What worked was when I adjusted the "exposure" by holding the +/- button and turning the little dial near the shutter button. It makes absolutely no sense, but somehow it suddenly started working perfectly again. And it hasn't glitched up again yet.
Hope it works for you, too.
