Rascal 600, normally the 7 flashes is related to the Wigwag (throttle pot ) not being dead centre when you turn it on, if it happens while going along i would first check the wiring from this pot if all okay then the pot itself must be worn.
Look at the speed pot (on the top of the tiller ) as well making sure the connections are okay as this can also cause the 7 flashes.,
On the rascal, if your driving along and it suddenly stops, the throttle lever could be bad or the speed control could be bad or both. A battery lead maybe loose. The tiller cable may have slid back causing line interruption.
The flashing 4 indicates current timeout, the scooter may have been going up a steep hill, over heating the motor, turn off and allow motor to cool. then try again. if this happens on flat ground then check the parking brake, it maybe hanging up causing the motor to over work. Mine was doing that the most likely reason is your lever located in the back of the scooter is probably in neutral. Mine would have everything brand new batteries all the lights everything was working except it wouldn't go and that's the reason the lever was in neutral. They will have a diagram showing you which one is in drive and neutral. Mine had to be pushed all the way down to be in drive once I've done that it worked perfect. Look for a lever with a colored handle and make sure it is in drive. That is most likely the problem
Power train control module controls the drivetrain. If you can get a code from the computer it would go a long way diagnosing wether its an engine malfunction or computer issue. To get the codes bring a pen & piece of paper out to the car, turn the key to the run position (not start but when all the dash lights come on) then off then run then off then run (three times in the on position, after you have turned the ke on then off 3 times on then leave the key in the on position and watch the check engine light. It will flash a code to you for example check engine light turns on then off 1 time with a long pause then the light flashes three times then another pause this would be the #13 code , most start with this code to tell you that it is checking codes. Just count the # of flashes (from the check engine light) & that is the first # of the code it will pause then flash again & that is the second # of the code. Flash 5 times pause then 5 more flashes is the # 55, & that is the last code you get to indicate all codes have been displayed, so key on then off then on then off then on & watch the check engine light count the flashes write down that # when it pauses then count the next number of flashes until the pause & that is your trouble cod they are 2 # codes & usually 13 is the first code flashed & the # 55 is the code that lets you know it is done, all the 2 digit codes in between are trouble codes & can be found in a chiltons or haynes service manual or search the web for chrysler trouble or computer codes.
You have to count the number of flashes between delays. For example, the light flashes twice, pauses briefly, then flashes 4 times. This problem code is 24. The end of the trouble code is 55, which is 10 flashes so you have at least 2 trouble codes on your vehicle.
To check for trouble codes turn the ignition switch to run for three seconds (one second pause after the fuel pump stops running) and then turn the switch back to off for three seconds. Repeat this process again. Now turn the switch to ignition and wait for about 8 seconds and the check engine lamp will start flashing the codes. If there are codes present the light will flash rapidly (about three per second) then there will be a 2 second pause with the lamp off. The lamp will then flash one or more times to indicate the first digit of the trouble code. It will be on and off for about 1 second. Count the number of times it flashes for the first digit of the trouble code. Then there will be about a 2 second delay then will flash again for the second digit. After flashing the second digit there will be a 2 second delay and additional trouble codes will be flashed. Write down the numbers and when they start repeating themselves the trouble code transmission is completed. All trouble codes consist of two digits. If the lamp flashes only the 3 flashes per second there are no trouble codes present. If there are codes present, let me know and I can advise you of their meaning.
