I have a Panasonic.THE MODEL # IS PT61LCZ. There is a green light on the front that flashes constantly and I can hear what sounds like a motor or fan running but it is just black. No picture comes on.Can you tell me what you think it might be?
No you didn't but sometimes when lamp goes out there is a fuse also goes with it. If the new worked for a short time or never worked then I woul look for an open fuse. I would need schematic to find. Are you can keep asking here until someone give more helpful info.
We're under a service plan and had the guy out today. Same symptoms. He replaced the lamp and it didn't work and then called Mitsubishi. They said it is probably a very common capacitor problem on the power supply board. If you open the back and take a look you are likely to see bulging caps. Parts C9A37 and C9A38. The caps are cheap if you can find them, but the parts are really hard to find right now so Best Buy is actually replacing these for people under service plans rather than fixing them. You probably ignored the "warning signs" like we did and didn't think much of it when the TV said there was something blocking the air flow and the lamp was going to shut off. We now know this is a sign that the caps are getting too hot and need to shut down to cool off... Good luck! BTW, our guy said the repair will run you about $200 if you can't do it yourself.
Just happend to my tv,i had a tv repair guy come out he wanted to charge me 600 to fix the tv is only 14 months old.
I ordered the part I need but now Im trying to find a manual to see if I can install or if i need to call someone to install
The part you need is 188.95 you an find it at http://www.partstore.com/ part number 4719-001981 it is the DLP Chip
Good Luck if I find out the install i will let you know
You will need to have it diagnosed if you do not have the service manual, or the knowledge of how these circuits work. I can tell you to replace this or that but it would be a guess! You need to start measuring the voltages on the ballast circuit, as I have seen door switches, fan sensors, heat sensors cause all of your symptoms as well. Good Luck
