This saw uses the carburetor to pressurize the oil tank. It is not the oiling system on the super 2 which uses a diaphragm on the carb. The oil tube comes from the carb directly and goes into the oil tank to pressurize it, then the oil flows out of the tank and to the adjustable oil valve or if you bypass the adjustable oil valve it would go directly to the chain bar inlet/outlet tube. The carb doesn't seem to be pressurizing the oil tank. When I take the tube off of the carb and blow into the tube the oil comes out at the chain bar where it's suppose to. When I put the tube back on the carb and start the engine the oil goes back up the tube away from the chain bar outlet. Any help on this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ron
There is a breather hole somewhere you need to clean it up so you can find it probly on the cap

hi there i had this problem check bar studs make sure there tight bar must be flush on chainsaw body not on stud flange if bar is on stud flange there is a gap so oil leaks out near sprocket and not in bar oil channel

This probably is a worn out automatic oiling diaphragm and plunger assembly. If it is like my Super 2, it is right behind the clutch and sprocket. I had to take the sprocket off to get to the little plate held by three small screws. You probably have to remove the plastic covers first to see this stuff. After removing the screws, the diaphragm and plunger should peel off either the plate or the engine housing. Now the fun starts. I found a parts supplier that listed a picture of the little demon and the price was about seven dollars. But I didn't bookmark the site and now I can't find it again. Check that the oiler hole and the hole in the bar that it pumps into aren't clogged. The sawdust running under the chain and be deposited in the oiler hole in the bar until it plugs it solid. That will keep the oil from havintg a place to go and build up pressure.

Hopefully this diagram will come through if not go to homelite.com, service and support, find parts, parts locator, model xl then to engine internals. You probably have a bad oil pump and these are parts and numbers you might need.324 views

Well I fixed the problem. I changed out the old oil lines for new ones and when the engine is reved up the oil comes out at the chain bar outlet. So thanks for to those who tried to help.
