Use the Restoration Disk. When asked choose Repair. (Non-Destructive Installation)
You are missing basic Windows files. Boot loader files. Also you may have to prepare to replace the harddrive. May have bad Sectors on it. Means I would copy off all personal information, after getting that laptop going again, or you may lose it.
for this you have to do a pc restore
first turn off your comouter
then turn it on but as soon as you turn on keep tapping the F10nkey continuously
then you will get a ssytem recovery options screen
please select dell factory image restore to on that
then proceed futher
but all the data will be lost
Troubleshooting a power problem is fairly simple:
1 Try a different AC adapter, see if there is any change
2 If system will not power on with a known good or new AC adapter, then the power connection on the motherboard is likely damaged and the motherboard will need to be replaced.
If no lights turn on or the fan doesn't spin, try removing the battery and checking the pin connectors. You may have bent one and it is not making a proper connection. Could also have an obstruction. If this doesn't work, try replacing the power adapter. But most adapters have a light which tells u if it is working. If it's off...that's your problem. If the adapter works,replace the battery, you may have overcharged it to the point where u killed it completely.
I have had three different laptops, last one an XPS from DELL which did the same thing. Replacing the battery solved all three laptops. How old is the battery you have in there now?
