If you have a laptop you may need to check your wifi cards antenna connection, Or you may need to replace the wifi card or get a USB wifi card they are relatively cheap.
we get like 2 soldering posts here a year, (you are doing something very wrong)
you need a new MOBO now.
its now dead. BIOS died + MOBO dead.
if ram good.
there are 2 cards, mini (wide area and wifi short)
top is wwlan wide area lan (like 3G) WW = wide area lan.
bottom Wlan is wifi car, short range, 100m or less. wifi.
if the bios can not see the card the card is bad.
wlan is on the bottom under PC , memory hatch open
take out ram to get access better to wlan, wifi.
did you know the cards only work in your country)
in our country USA ours are FCC certified, and do no work in your country if not here.
this is clear if you read the Wlan pages in your manual
seen here.
no operating system stated, wow, 14 windows and zillion linux. and PS2 OS. even freedos.
I have no idea at all what you have there;.

Ethernet cable lan connected. tell helper wired or wireless.

NIC card PCI, LAN
Wifi card PCI, WLAN
Nic USB dongle
Wifi USB dongle.
'
we cant see what you have there, a photo works or words.
my guess is wifi dead, as most post here, due to complexity of wifi.
if not say so please.
HP/Compaq ONLY provides drivers for Windows 2000, Win XP, and Win Vista for this model of laptop. It is based on OLD hardware and they are NOT going to write any Win7 drivers for it. If you want to use the wireless features, you can TRY to make the Vista wireless drivers work with it, but I don't think you'll have much success. Of course, you can always install Win2k, WinXP, or WinVista again...
What I notice is when they install a wireless card they change the model #. try looking for the model that shares the same case. bluetooth and wireless network cards are differant. All most all pc's are blue tooth ready. I use a doogle for bluetooth
