I understand you are receiving an error code of E72 on your Frigidaire dryer. Without knowing the model number specifically I can tell you the general explanation for an E72 code is an outlet control thermistor short circuit. The recommended solution is to check the resistance of the outlet control thermistor, and check wiring for a short circuit across the thermistor connections. Resistance should be between 4.9K ohms and 6.2K ohms at room temperature (68-77F or 20-25C). You may possibly need to replace the outlet control thermistor and/or wiring and retest.

However, this is not a typical DIY project. I would recommend reaching out to an experienced appliance technician just to ensure no troubleshooting step has been missed. Parts are often costly and if the problem is precisely diagnosed, it can save you a lot of time and funds.

What does code E68 mean?

Hello Erik;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.

The code E68 appears when one of the buttons on the keypad is stuck in the down position. This is a common error with several different Frigidaire dryer models and tends to occur when the dryer is five or more years old. You may be able to un-stick the offending key manually. If not, you will need to replace the entire keypad.

How do I reset my Frigidaire Affinity front load gas dryer when the LOC is displayed

Likely solution as I do not have the full model number of your dryer.

This means dryer control board thinks your machine is locked--- to get it out of lock mode normally do this:

press and hold "Options" and "Select" at the same time until it unlocks

If it doesn't unlock within 20 seconds you have a bad control board and it needs to be replaced.

I see that your Frigidaire washer is displaying error E72. Have you recently moved your washer to a different location or have the hoses been removed? If so, please verify that the hoses are connected to the correct valve. Otherwise, I would suggest contacting a professional to accurately diagnose your washer since it may possibly be experiencing a communication problem with the control board of faulty valve(s).
