I had the problem where the timer continues to count down but turntable doesn't turn, fan doesn't come on and food doesn't heat. Holding the door up worked for awhile but even that temporary method stopped working.
I bought a door interlock switch the cost $23 from an appliance repair place and replaced it myself. It worked like a charm. To replace the switch, you need to remove 3 screws that hold the plastic grille above the door, which exposes the 1 screw that is holding the control panel. Remove that screw and slide the control panel up to remove it. There are three switches left of the panel. Note the middle swich has a different part number so I'm not sure what that one is called. The bad one on mine happen to be the bottom one. The switch is held on by a "pin" and tab that holds it in place. Push the tab and spin the switch on its "pin" past the tab to remove. Reverse your step to put the new one on. I hope this helps.

Sounds like either the latch assembly or hinges too loose to activate the micro switch. TIP: Go to the web and type www.partselect.com enter your model number then scoll down to your part. Click to enlarge exploded diagram on left. Veiw enlarged diagram at top of page. You can print the entire diagram for exact assembly by holding your pointer in the upper left hand corner of diagram. Select the print icon. Now you have what you need. If you found any of these suggestions helpful, please rate my solution. D. Lange

I had the same problem. I removed the door and used a rivet tool. I checked to make sure the door cleared the rivet head, which was nearly flat, so there would not be any microwave leakage.

Repairing the loose, detached hinge is simple.
First buy a pop rivet tool and 1/8'' or 3mm rivets for about $16 at lowes
Second remove the door. There is a little plastic pop tab on the inside top corner of the door by the hinge that keeps the door from lifting off of the hinge pins. Use a 1 inch putty knife or maybe a butter knife and pry from the bottom crack. Once tab is off the entire door can be lifted off.
Third, line up the little holes in the bracket with the little holes in the microwave face. Insert a pop rivet in the hole and squeeze the tool till it pops off. I put one 3mm rivet on the top hinge and one on the bottom.
No drilling needed on my Fridgidaire PLMV169DCd microwave. I guess u could drill a 1/8'' hole thru the microwave face and the hinge bracket if there isn't one on your model.
Hello friend, thank you for your post!
I see that the door on your Frigidaire microwave will not open. Sounds like your door latch could be faulty. I would recommend performing a reset on your microwave and you can do that by disconnecting the power cord for roughly ten minutes. If your door does not open after the power has been restored you may want to contact a professional for proper repairs. Hopefully this is helpful. -Matt

Good afternoon friend, thank you for the post!
I understand that you are stating the door open button is continuing to get stuck on your Frigidaire microwave. I would like to ask some additional questions to make sure I can provide additional assistance. First, which button are you referring to that is sticking? When I pulled up your model FGM0205KBB, I do not see a door open button. Could we verify the model number is correct? Once I have that information I look forward to assisting you. -Matt
