My toshiba satalite a205 cannot connect to wireless routers, it can see them but wont connect. How can i fix this

There are a lot of possible reasons for this :
1. Check that you are using the same connection type, i.e whether Access Point, or Adhoc or Infrastructure.
2. Be sure that you know got the security password right, i.e WEP or WPA.
3. Another very possible reason is that you should check whether the configuration on the Wireless router is not set to enable 'MAC Address Filtering" and this means, any MAC address that it doesnt recognise on its own MAC address table, it will block it.
4.Have you checked the physical wireless switch on the Laptop? ensure that it is switched on too.
5. Then check the channel that you network card is set to, whether its on a different channel with the wireless router.

Hope this helps you with new ideas of troubleshooting it.
Goodluck!

Wireless card in E1505 Dell not finding networks in range

The 1390 WLAN Minicard may not be configured to communicate with your wireless router.
Check the wireless router settings, (check the wireless settings on your other computer) and configure the 1390 WLAN with the same settings eg. SSID, WEP/WAP encryption, etc.
Is MAC address filtering enabled on your wireless router, if so add the MAC address of the 1390 WLAN to the MAC address list in the wireless router.

Check the TCP/IP properties of the 1390 WLAN card the Internet protocol should not have a fixed IP address, set it to Obtain an IP address automatically including the DNS.

Use the Ipconfig command to see the IP configuration of the network cards.

Use the Ping command to see if you can communicate with wireless router.
