When i turn on the my toshiba theater view tv all that happens is the of/on idicater light just flashes

Red means TV on standby. TV remote not working. Check the transmitter LED flashes by viewing remote on a digital camera or phone whilst pressing the buttons. The invisible light will flash purple viewed from the camera.

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power led, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. replace the lamp on your TV, but only replace it with PHILLIPS brand. Anything other than that, will not last. We just replaced ours with Phillips and the picture is much brighter. It really shows the HD quality of the tv.

Download the user manual to your Toshiba set from net. It will help you in this matter.

Go into the tv menu and select the Preferences menu and set your picutre preference from Theater to Normal. The TV is currently in Theater mode, wich is for viewing with no lights on in the room. Switching it to normal lightens the pictue a lot.

is the light flashing? Many things will cause a no power condition, might be shorted Convergence IC's, Z801 Ic could cause trouble, might want to call service man.
