Why won't some of my photos transfer to the picture files? These photos are treated as if they are duplicates which they aren't.

First the pictures stored on your SD card are already files. There are many file types for graphic images I'm guessing you want to transfer the files on the SD card to your computer so you can work on them with Photoshop or other Photo Editor or maybe just print out hardcopy pictures. You will need a computer that comes equipped with a SD card reader slot. Then all you do is plug the card into the slot and the computer will treat it like another hard drive device and will assign a drive letter to it like E: or in my case J: At this point you can drag and drop the files on the SD card to folders on you PC. If you don't have a SD card reader slot then you will have to resort to other methods. Most modern digital cameras come with a special cable and proprietary software that will allow you to plug your camera directly into your PC through a USB port. My Canon SX 500 allows me to do this. This way you can transfer the pictures without having to remove the SD card from the camera.

The best way to transfer pictures from a camera with an SD memory card is to do it outside the camera. If your computer does not have an SD card reader built in, you can buy an external USB card reader for $20 or less on E-bay, Amazon, etc. Remove the memory card from the camera and insert it in the card reader. Your computer will treat the card reader and SD card just like it treats an external hard drive. Either drag-n-drop or copy and paste your pictures from the SD card file to a file on your hard drive. If after you have copied and backed up your files you want to reformat your SD card, replace it in the camera and format it in the camera, not in the computer. SD cards formatted in a computer will often not work in your camera because of slight differences in the formatting.

I don't understand why you would want to transfer pictures from the computer to the camera. Normally you transfer pictures from the camera to the computer. But, if you really want to restore pictures to your camera's memory, you can remove the SD memory card from your camera and transfer the pictures on any computer equipped with an SD card reader/writer. These devices are built into most Apple computers, many PC's and are available as USB accessories for all other computers. I have seen them for under $20. When you connect the device and insert your camera's SC card, your computer will recognize the card and treat it as if it were another hard drive. You will be able to read or write or drag and drop picture files just as you would with any other file on your computer. By the way; most professional photographers use this method to transfer there photos rather then transferring them using a USB cable from the camera.

This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Instead of selecting all images, just select the ones you wish to transfer

Hi there! What method are you using to transfer photos when you connect your camera to the computer? Does a Kodak program open up automatically and start doing it for you? If this is the case, it is possible there is a setting in it that only transfers the most recent photos--ones that have not been transferred before.

I would recommend using the Windows tool. It should automatically pop up when you connect your camera, and ask what you want to do. Choose "Open folder," as shown below. Once the folder opens, you can highlight all of the files and copy them, then paste them into a folder on your computer (I would recommend making a new folder under My Pictures). This method is basically treating your camera's memory card as an external hard drive--you are controlling what gets transferred, rather than letting a program try and guess for you.

Hi There! The easiest way to remove duplicate photos is to go through and delete one by one.

Try using a separate card reader to download your pictures to a folder you create on your desktop.Then you can carefully rename the ones that the computer thinks are duplicates and then move them to their final destination. Your camera is obviously creating new folders but not continuing the sequence of numbers on the photos. You might want to e-mail one of Kodak's tech people with your problem to see if they've come up with a work-around.

Charge battery full
Then TAG the pictures with as many tags possible. Up to 10
Make new tags.
then Protect and Favourite the pictures videos etc.
Then transfer again to your "file" on computer. and check for the numbers are continius. Delete the dupl;icates that show with the 2 zeros "00"
