pull up the front cover the grill looking piece , not the air out louvers , there maybe a little button , push that in if air con starts up , then you remote sensor may be faulty or the remote itself .

Check temp setting minimum -3 degree than your room temp and also in cool mode. If while settings there any beep sound? If not transmission problem between remote and PCB.
