Hello! The vacuum will reset itself, you only need to allow it time to cool off. This can take up to an hour. Overheating is usually caused by a clog or a filter that needs to be cleaned or replaced. Below are simple instructions for checking your vacuum for clogs.

1. Remove the dirt cup. Twist off the dirt cup lid.
2. Remove the filter cartridge from dirt cup.
3. Separate the foam and cartridge filters. Wash foam filter under running. Allow 24 hours to air dry outside the vacuum.
4. Tap the excess dirt out of Hepa filter. Hepa filter may also be washed. Allow 24 hours to air dry.
5. Check the secondary filter by removing the filter cover from base. Rinse the foam filter under running water until it runs clear. Allow 24 hours to air dry.
6. The red baffle tube inside of the dirt cup is apart of the filtration of the vacuum and needs to be cleaned as well. Twist out the baffle tube by turning 1/4 turn clockwise. Remove any hair or debris wrapped around baffle tube. Baffle tube can be rinsed if needed. Allow to dry thoroughly.
7. Remove the hose from both ends. Use a broom stick to loosen and remove any clogs from the main hose.
8. Remove the bottom plate and the brushes as instructed in the owner's manual. Use a wooden spoon or something similar to gently break up and remove any clogs from the lower hose.

If the filters are too dirty they may need to be replaced. With regular maintenance the filters should be replaced about once a year. Follow the links below to order replacement filters for your UH20020.

Eureka Airspeed Unlimited Pet Vacuum need to find reset button. Looked around & near motor & cannot find. Please help me find?

Ivan say for sure without knowing your model number but it most likely does not have a reset button. Most have a thermal reset belt into he motor because it's cheaper than putting on a reset button.

I was vacuuming and my vacuum just shut down completely and won't turn back on at all

If your machine has a reset button see if it needs reset. If it does not have a reset button it likely has an internal reset that shuts it off if the motor gets too hot and will reset when the motor cools down. Overheating is usually caused by something restricting the airflow, it could be a clog or the bag is too full or the filters need replaced.

Where is the thermal reset button

Riccar uses an external thermal reset which is more reliable than most brands which use a thermal reset built into the motor. On your Riccar it will be on the back on the bottom left. It is a little tiny button that you epwill hear "click" when you push on it if it has been popped. If not it will not push in and you won't hear the click. The older models did not all have a reset button. If you have to keep pushing the reset it means that most likely you have a clog somewhere or the bag is full. It's rare but occasionally a thermal reset button may go bad and need replaced.

How do I fix the brush bar reset button on Dyson DC24?

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

The reset button will not remain depressed after it's been pushed. Instead, you should hear and feel a click when pressed - it can help to use something like the eraser-end of a pencil. The steps are shown in our video guide below:

If you've been unable to reset the cleaner head after pressing the reset button as shown, or if you're worried the reset button isn't working correctly, please get in touch as we should be able to help you further.

You can reach the Dyson Customer Helpline directly by calling us on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU). Please have your DC24 to hand when you call so we can take you through some troubleshooting checks.

Does the Dyson 04 absolute have a reset button?

In the manual is no mention of any reset button. What could it be you want to reset? If there is a defect, there is no such thing as a button that can undo that. Reset is used on computer (computerised systems) to reload a program from scratch. Even on a computer with a hardware error, a reset can't help. Here is the Dyson manual:

How to i reset tha power head

This machine has an automatic reset in the motor. If it won't reset within a couple of minutes then the reset is shot and will need to be replaced. That requires some soldering. You might need to take it to a vacuum dealer to do it.
