It is a spline bit of different sizes. Used in automobile type bolts and the industrial sector.
There is also safety totx bit, witch have a small hole in the center to accomodate anti theft screws.

Changing rear brake cylinders on 97 malibu. The 2 mounting screws/bolts are tiny torx screws--meaning I need a torx box end wrench to get to it unless I pull the axle. Redicules!

Why are you telling us that ?

You need torx bits for all kinds of things,
not just cars.

Why do you think we have $40,000
in tools to work on vehicles, plus
$10,000 in tool boxes to store them?

Then another $15,000 in test equipment

I have a sears 27cc weedeater. I need to adjust the carb low and high but it looks like a female torx type of screw. What size is the female torx and where do i get the tool

unfortunately you have to order this special tool and it doesn't go by size but rather by name. It's a 2-stroke carb adjustment tool. find a small a small engine shop in your area and have them order one for you or you could do a google search for small engine repair speciality tools.

Tool needed to remove SRS Control Module fro 1997 Honda Accord

Hi, the bit is called a Torx Bit or a star bit. Don't get the type for a screwdriver, get the socket that would go on a ratchet, you'll need to put an extension on it of course to get in there. Push hard or it will strip. Give Honda a call and ask them what size it is for your car for sure, might be a 6mm or you can just buy a metric Torx Bit Set. Separately they are $3.99 at Autozone. Not sure how much the kit is. Good luck.

this is a problem that happens alot you have to use an impact driver for this and a impact torx bit. the driver is a cylinder shaped tool with a 3/8 drive head. you get the impact torx the the impact driver and a hammer. the tool is inexpensive and will do the trick.
