No power to the brush el7020

There shouldn't be a motor in the brush. The brush is powered by the suction on the hose. Check the suction on the hose. The vacuum itself might need to be cleaned. If the suction is a problem and you have cleaned the vacuum I would contact dyson support to see if they can replace your vacuum. http://www.dyson.com/support.aspx

How old? If fairly new you should not need brushes, bad brushes would probably not allow the vacuum to run at all. Last time you changed filter? Sounds like the cover to the filter is not closing well enough. There's also possibility you have a clog in the wand or hose.

Hey, you may want to have check if the brush turns by hand without the belt in place. If the brush doesn't turn manually, you'll need to replace the brush.

That problem have 2 causes..#1 is loose electrical connection inside or on the power cord..#2 is worn out carbon brush inside of vacuum motor..

Carbon brush is the one of the most serviceable parts of a vacuum cleaner because our vacuum cleaner motor is very hard working parts so the brush inside will possible worn or not connected to the armature of rotor...

First try connecting the power nozzle directly to the hose. If it works, the problem is due to a broken wire or faulty connection in the wands. At least one wand will need to be replaced.
My guess is it's probably due to a broken or disconnected wire. This could be in the hose (most likely), the wands, or the tank wiring itself. You can test the hose wiring by using a multimeter or continuity tester. A tester may be easier for you to use, and will provide the info needed.
Disconnect both ends of the hose, sit down, and lay the ends on your lap. Touch one end of the probe to a terminal on one end of the hose. Place other probe on a connector at the other end. One connector will light, the other won't. Now repeat with the other terminal at the first end of the hose and repeat. The terminals will read opposite the reading in the first test. If the light fails to turn on with either test, it's a broken wire in the hose. This is most likely near/at the handle end, or at the wall end. In some cases it can be repaired, but not always.
It could also be due to a faulty switch.
For a definite diagnosis, take the unit, the hose, power nozzle etc. to a repair center.

You need to replace the belt that turns the brush.

If you still have your receipt i would recommend to contact electrolux at 800 896 9756 you have a 2 year waranty so they should be able to either replace your power head or refer you to a service station that can repair it

If the motor runs, the circuit breaker is working. If it only works on the push stroke, you probably have burnt contacts where the handle and/or wands and/or power head connect. When you push, the contacts are pressed together; when you pull, they are separated and the motor loses power. The only solution is to replace the connector parts.

There could be a couple of reasons why you are not getting power to your power brush. The first and most popular reason is the hose of the machine. Sometimes the wires inside of the hose will go bad, causing the power not to get down to the power brush, but the rest of the vacuum working well.

You can test this hose easily. You will need to go out and purchase a continuity tester from Home Depot or Radio Shack. When the electrical test is in the continuity position, remove the hose from the canister, and put one of the testers on one of the electrical prongs that plugs into the canister itself, and put the other tester into socket where hose connects into the wand, you should have continuity on both terminals. It is important that the switch that controls the power brush is turned to the on position. If one of the terminals does not have continuity, you will need to replace the hose itself.

If both terminals have continuity, then you should then follow the same procedures on the electrical wand. If the wand tests ok as well, you may have a loose connection in the power brush.
