Hi,

Due this test, turn on all burners on high, as you turn them on, does the problem burner change in volume or size of flame? If all burners are on and you only have issues with that single burner you need to replace that burner valve only. If you have issues with all burners when the all are on, replace the regulator.

I hope this helps and leads you in the right direction.

SOURCE: Jenn Air Cooktop Burners Won't Ignite

The orifices may be dirty. They can usually be cleaned out with a safety pin.

SOURCE: Jenn-Air Gas Cooktop Model CVGX2423

Just had this problem today on our seven or eight year old Jenn-Air cooktop. When using the front right burner all ignitors would continue to fire until I turned off the burner. The three other burners worked correctly. After trying all the obvious soulutions w/o success I pulled off that burners control knob and the rubber seal which exposed the valve. Their was a bunch of crud in there. I put a small (one inch) paint brush in there and vigorusly loosened all the crud. I then inserted the nozzle of our central vac - which just happened to fit perfectly - and sucked all the stuff out. I repeated the proceedure a couple more times, reassembled the knob and started the burner. Worked just perfectly!!! YMMV. Good luck.

SOURCE: cooktop fan switch replacement

1. Turn off the power at the breaker box.
2. lift off the air grill.
3. remove the two screws at the front of the control switch panel (escutcheon)..
4. slide the control panel forward until it disengages, then lift up to expose the switch assembly and wiring.

SOURCE: Gas Jenn Air Cooktop Issue with Electric Starter

Did you spill water near/on knobs? if so leave to dry out for 24 hours. If still clicking after 24 hours one of the switches has shorted out and needs to be replaced. You can find which one with a multi meter/condinuity test. Hope this helps...Good Luck

One of the burners does not light but it does have a spark at ignitor but it is not directed to burner port

Be certain the openings in the burner are free of debris. Boilovers can leave debris in the openings that will harden. Once this happens you cannot get the right mix of oxygen and gas for a flame to ignite. With the burner OFF, you can clean the openings gently with a toothpick to loosen the cooked on "gook." Then when you turn on the burner, the flame should burn off the residue and your range will be "cooking on all four burners!"

1 burner flares and sputters

Hello. Chances are that something on the stove boiled over or got poured into that burner. take it off, soak it overnight in water with dishsoap added, then rinse it and let it dry before reinstalling it. Repeat the soaking in soapy water if necessary until the flaring, sputtering and black soot is gone. regards, Joe

How to start the self-cleaning cycle in jenn-air sce30600?

An electric cooktop uses a great deal more electrical energy than a gas cooktop. The electric portion of the gas cooktop runs the electronics (clock, timer, ignitor, oven light, etc.), and these are small electrical loads. An electric cooktop uses more electrical energy cooking a batch of, say, pasta sauce, than a gas cooktop would normally use in a month or two. There just isn't a good comparison as there is such a broad difference in the electrical usage of the two units.

Flames too high Jenn-air CCG2423

Definitely cut your loses and get a cooktop with a warranty. That unit sat on the back shelf for a reason.......it didn't work properly.

Also, but a cook top that is compatible with the safety knobs they sell as child guards at places like lowes and home depot.

here is a link to show you how the child proof knobs work
