Are you trying to use MAC filtering. You would just need the MAC from the network setup screen and add it to your router/firewall.
If you are using a Mac (Apple) computer you would, providing you have a wireless adapter connected to Mac, just go into "System Preferences" and use the wizard under "Print & Scan". Make sure the networking on the printer is in on the same as your Mac.
Canon PIXMA MP530 is not wireless capable.it can only be installed over usb connection.

The tech was correct about that matter. However you can configure the MAC to always allow the device.
Find your MAC for NOOK. I think you have already did.
Go to Setting and then to the Second Page to find it.
Configuring MAC
Wireless MAC Filter. To filter wireless users by MAC Address, either permitting or blocking access, click Enable.
If you do not wish to filter users by MAC Address, select Disable.
Prevent. Clicking this button will block wireless access by MAC Address.
Permit Only. Clicking this button will allow wireless access by MAC Address.
Edit MAC Address Filter List. Clicking this button will open the MAC Address Filter List. On this screen, you can list users, by MAC Address, to whom you wish to provide or block access. For easy reference, click the Wireless
Client MAC List button to display a list of network users by MAC Address.
Change these settings as described here and click the Save Settings button to apply your changes or Cancel Changes to cancel your changes.

The Simple Network Configuration capabilities of
Mac OS® X can only find devices in the local network segment. If your
Macintosh® and devices are not in the same network segment or are
connected via a router, you cannot use the Simple Network Configuration
capabilities of Mac OS® X.
Make sure your ADSL router has wireless capability or wireless function. Verify that from your Internet Provider. If your ADSL router doesn't have wireless function, you need to buy a separate wireless router then cascade it to your ADSL router, from there your airport must be working fine.
