You need a tri-color (red, white & yellow) rca cable wire w/ gold tips.....either on the front or back of dvd-rec ....connect wire to the in (line 1 or line 2) coming from the play out on the dvd-player....your dvd rec is still connected to the tv right...on the dvd rec using remote select line 1 or 2 which ever is connected...(test..by playing a dvd in the player..if you see the picture plus hear the audio this means its connected correctly and can be recorded)...note some Disney dvds are not recordable...hope this is helpful.............feel free to rate

The unit is connected to a TV via HDMI lead. I am trying to record from an LP record player to dvd via the front connection of the dvd recorder, it is recording but at very low volume?

hi,

You need a phono pre amp between the Recorder and LP. The audio out put of LP player is very low. that why the volume is very low. You should amplify it using a phono pre amp and then connect to the recorder's input.

Can i record from one dvd to another magnavox player recorder MWR 10D6 i wish to record from a DVD player to recorder i can record from the TV Email [email protected]

Sure you can... connect a cable from the Output jacks of your DVD player and attach it to the Input jacks of your Magnavox the same way you connected the TV. You'll need to use your remote on the Magnavox to change the Input it records from so it conforms with where you plugged the cable into.

Hook up dvd

Found this on http://www.satelliteguys.us/directv-forum/118015-hooking-up-dvd-player.html,

The Directv box should have at least two sets of out puts. You did not say what receiver you have and if the dvd is a player only of a recorder so its hard to say how to connect it.

If you have a dvd player only then take the output from the dvd player and connect it to you tv's second input, HDMI or component or what ever is a match between the two unites.

If you have a DVD-Recorder that you want to record programs from the directv receiver then take the second output from the receiver and connect it to the input on the DVD-Recorder and connect the output as above.

Hope this helps.

Installion

First of all, connecting them in tandem like this will activate a security feature built in to the dvd recorder. Any copywritten dvd has a security code embedded in it that will tell the recorder not to record.

Connecting a additional dvd player

Try this:
Player Recorder
S-video-out => S-Video in
red & white audio => red & white audio in
out

Dollar stores are a good source of cheap cables,
but macrovision protection may interfere with the
recording... www.videohelp.com may provide a code to
disable macrovision on the player.
