I an having problems unmuting my phone at times, it just goes on mute automaticly, i can hear them but they cant hear me

You have no sound on just Youtube? Or is it anything that should be playing sound? If the latter, you might try clicking the Mute button on the right side edge of your iPad. If it shows orange, it's on mute, slide the switch to unmute. If that makes no difference, try turning up the volume, by pressing up on the long button just below the Mute slider.

If you hold the power button down a menu pops up - the last option is for mute/unmute. Make sure this is not set to mute.
If this doesn't help, it could be that some app you are running is muting the sound. Close all apps and see if that helps. Power off/on and see if that helps. If you do determine it is an app that's causing the problem, add a comment about it in the Play Store so the developers will know and hopefully fix it.

You mute/unmute with the volume controller on the right upper side of the tablet. If it's muted, run the volume all the way down to zero, at which point the slash mark through the volume icon will disappear. Then you can set your volume level.

Is it possible that you also changed the function of the lock switch?

Try going into settings and change the settings of the lock switch to mute/unmute then place the switch itself into the unmute position.


If that brings back the sound of the keys, then it's safe to change the lock settings back to lock rotation.

If that doesn't solve the issue then I would recommend you do a backup and then restore to factory settings using your computer and iTunes.

double check if the volume is on mute there is a certain icon from your keyboard that indicate volume. try holding Fn key then press that volume button to unmute it. make sure also that ther eare no headphone connected as it will disable sound if you are expecting it from speakers. you may also try checking the driver status if you need to reinstall it or update it. simply go to control panel > system > hardware tab > device manager to check audio device there, if the icon has yellow marking on it then that is the problem you just need to reinstall or update the driver for audio by either using the driver disc that came with the system or downloading it from the manufaturers website

Sound issue can be related to driver, sound settings or hardware itself. If you tell me more about the issue an I will give you step by step solution.
Check if device manager shows the Sound device? When you play a media file does it indicates any error message? Have you unmuted all the channels?
