The belt may look fine but they can still be stretched or worn and it won' turn the brush. Try changing the belt and see what it does. You can get Eureka belts here:
Make sure the 'Power brush' switch on the contol panel on the hose is depressed. Check the circuit breaker on the power nozzle; it will either be a button or a breaker that looks like a rocker switch, try to reset it.
Is the power nozzle motor running but the brush just isn't turning? If so you may have a broken belt. Not a likely solution since the belt is a lifetime belt, but still remotely possible.
can you turn the brush by hand? if it turns real freely the belt is broke or the brush siezed up make sure there isn't any carpet strans wrapped around the ends of the brush otherwise the brush won't turn.if its the belt make sure you clean the motor shaft before you put on the new belt, the old rubber from the old belt will make the new belt run unevevly and break again..good luck
hello lilbutmunch1,
The brush is motor/belt driven so you probably either broke the belt or it shifted off the motor or brush shaft. I suggest you unplug it,flip it over and look for screws that hold the baseplate together.. remove those screws and seperate the baseplate to gain access to the brush and motor head. Once open, it should be fairly obvious what the problem is.. a broken belt, a belt that has shifted or the brush won't spin freely due to an obstruction. Hope this helps..

http://geeksquad.fixya.com/ThreadView.aspx?prdid=0&thid=721048 Generic problem for all Vacuums Broken belt, motor won’t turn Posted by msmclovin on Jun 29, 2008 Broken belt, motor won’t turn Hello, I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. If the motor shaft won’t turn then you may have a bad motor or a stick carbon brush, but if it is just the belt the replace the belt with a genuine belt because the average belt change id every 4 to 6 months for the best cleaning and to store the extra belts in a Ziploc bag in the refrigerator. But you question does not tell me what brand name and model # it is so I have a hard time to diagnose the problem for you so my explanation if just a generic one and should work for you but next time please note the brand name and model #. If you have further problems please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or call the Kirby cust serv dept listed below. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions. On the front of the nozzle is a big knob that you turn to load the belt. Take the nozzle of of the vac, turn the knob to catch the belt, keep turning it until it stops. You will know if the it caught the belt, it will be hard to turn. Put the nozzle back on, lock, then turn the knob in the other direction releasing the belt unto the pulley.
