Mitsubishi ws55613 - lose picture from Direct TV source every 30 seconds, picture returns and disappears. Also remote on/off switch won't work but Power button on TV works - remote works after TV on

Mitsubishi ws55613 - I lose the picture from my Direct TV source every 30 seconds, then the picture returns but goes out again and again. Recently had the blinking light problem fixed by TV repairman making changes to DM Board. Also remote on/off switch won't work but Power button on TV works - remote works after TV is turned on for using other functions. Thank you in advance for your response.

SOURCE: Where is the Dm board? Does anyone have a picture for this model

This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the device and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times. 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source) 1. SHUTDOWN AT POWER WITH SELF DIAGNOSIS ERROR 2 2. CHECK FOR LEAKY C9A60 470 PF 1000 V PART # 154P400030, PARALLEL TO D9A57 ON THE POWER PCB. 2. SHUTDOWN AT POWER WITH SELF DIAGNOSIS ERROR 2 2. CHECK FOR OPEN FUSES F9A04 AND F9A05 PART # 283P043090 ON THE +24 AND -24 VOLT LINES. IF THE FUSES ARE OPEN THE CONVERGENCE OUTPUT CIRCUIT WOULD BE SUSPECT.

SOURCE: Green blinking light on Mitsubishi WS-55813 HDTV

generally this means a bad digital module.. as a techinican the first thing that we would check are what is know as standby voltages. if they were there we would replace digital module.! question. Does it blink for more than 70 seconds. This unit comes with a lockout feature. to unlock press and hold menu down for 10 seconds on front panel.

SOURCE: constant green blinking light Mitsubishi tv WS-65513

A quick fix for this is to use a hair dryer to heat up the capacitors and then plug the tv back in.  It should only take about 90-120 seconds to heat them up depending on how hot the dryer is.  The cap's are located on the right side.  Take the front cover off the TV, and heat up the box that is about the size of a small cable box on the right side.  Once the cap's are warm, they will stay warm as long as the TV stays plugged in.

If your TV has a reset switch on the back, use it. If not, Unplug the TV, hold the power button down for 30 seconds, let it go and remain unplugged for another 5 minutes or so.
Plug it back in, and see what happens. Try changing the inputs/channels/etc to see what happens. If you're still having this issue, Take your TV in for repair.

- Sidenote, a $25 power bar with built in protection curcuits are the easiest way to protect your equipment from this kind of thing, and quite a bit cheaper than forking over $300 for a new TV everytime there's thinder and lighting.

We have a DVR hooked up to our 1989-99 Mitsubishi TV (floor model) still in amazing working condition. The remote control for that TV never allowed us to put the TV on mute. If the mute botton was...

Well, without knowing the exact model of tv and remote, I can just give my best guess.
Try using the volume up/down on the TV and / or the remote.
On the TV, try pressing both the volume up and down at the same time.
Stick the remote right in the face of the TV (direct in front of the remote sensor) and hit the mute button.
Try tapping the mute button in very short single bursts rather than pressing it for a half second like you would any other button.
If any of those work, please come back and reply with the model of the TV and remote, because someone somewhere probably has the same issue and would love to have it solved!

Subject

Unable to Power On or Off the set

Symptoms / Customer Description
The symptom may occur while the TV is ON or in Standby.

1) If the problem occurs while the TV is in Standby:
The TV will not turn on via the remote or power button located on the set however after AC reset (i.e. unplug the TV for at least 30 seconds from the AC source) the TV returns to normal operation.

2) If the problem occurs while the TV is in use:
You may lose the ability to power off the TV or switch the video inputs however channel changing, adjusting volume, or accessing the menu may still be possible. After AC reset (i.e. unplug the TV for at least 30 seconds from the AC source) the TV returns to normal operation.

Sony has designed the BRAVIA Televisions to be CUSTOMER Software Upgradeable and therefore Sony will not pay a service claim on any issue resolved by a software upgrade. If a customer requests an update please refer them to the following website: http://www.updatemytv.com. If the unit requires the update, you may enter the customer's information in the website and a USB device will be sent to their address.
If a customer does not have access to the web please have them call the Sony Call Center Support line: 1-866-210-6333

If a customer reports either symptom above request that they unplug the set from the AC wall outlet for at least 30 seconds and then plug the set back in. This will reset the TV and it should work fine for several months. If resetting the TV does not resolve the issue the customer has a different problem and a service call by a technician may be required

Replace Both of your STK convergence ICs STK392-570 If this is not number on your s use what it has on them. you can call MATs 1-800-628-1118 o Main STK is what is going bad when IC goes out all together TV will shut down and will not come on. So replace BOTH STKs ASAP! you will also need Heat sink compound to put on back of New ICs.

TV works fine for a while, then the picture disappears.

I would just replace the TV, the parts are not going to be made to repair this. The set is just to old.

Horizontal lines in picture

That's almost always due to RF interference from an electric motor. It doesn't even have to be close to your TV, just operating on the same circuit or near a poorly insulated wire, which acts as an antenna, injecting 60Hz (and harmonic) noise into the power supply.

If it's right next to the TV it will be even more pronouced because the RF interference resonates into the TV circuitry itself, not just the power supply to the TV.

Typically a high current AC motor like a vacuum cleaner, refrigerator, dehumidifier, air conditioner, furnace, etc.

This set does have a video problem. If it was bought locally, then, the retailer may have a 30 day return policy. If bought online or cannot be returned, then, contact Sony, for a service center in your location: http://eservice.sony.com/webrma/web/index.do Either way the set is to new to have a problem and you should get it resolved as soon as possible.

Jammer shuts off

To my understanding, the first 30 seconds is a test mode when the blinder will react to a tv remote, after wards the light will remain green until a true laser attack.
