If you're confident in your ability to strip down such a delicate piece of kit:

get a bottle of pure acetone (molar, not nail polish remover - this contains lanolin which will destroy the electronics) and use it to displace the water and mineral deposits contained therein from the boards, then after ensuring the entire surface of every component is bone dry, reassemble.

If you're not so confident, find someone who's mad enough to try.

Dropped Sony Camcorder in sea water

This isn't a solution specific to your problem, but maybe similar enough to help. I've dropped both my cell phone and iPod in the water. My friend told me to fill a bowl with uncooked rice and submerge the cell phone in the rice to draw out the water - took about 2 days and all was working fine - same with the iPod, but it took longer (about a week.) You might want to gently clean the battery connections with a Q-tip if you're seeing residue. Good luck!
