if its a cd/dvd burner it will depend on which burning sofware you are using some will support burning media files and dvd's some will not you could search the internet for some free ones if you do not have any of this software cnetdownload.com also majorgeeks have lots of this free software

1st off all i like to know which Model you use or you want to buy. If you don't have DVD burner program with laotop, then i suggest you install updated Nero DVD/CD burner & burn your DVD.

Well I would suggest u to try another type of blank dvd e.g ati,melody etc
Or
u can upgrade ur firmware & driver for that device by going to device manager
However if the above don't work try it on another OS & PC..may be as last resort u may need to replace that device

laptop so that it will function properly. A CD disc installer normally goes with the unit you purchase. You
may ask assistance from the store where you buy your
CD burner. Or you can download it from the internet.

please refer to the burning software recommended by product. you can use also nero 6, 7, & 8. for burning cd's & dvd's.
