Generally we need a 3.7v battery in this player which is also used for the classic cellophones. One should try it from India or China where the classic cellphones are still in market. The battery will cost less than 4$ bt the cost of courier or postage will approx 30$ internationally. I will try if u can send me the actual image of the existing battery in case if u want to replace it. I will find the model of the cellphone and then u can buy ur batery from any online shopping website. Check for the battery model number and voltage & amp. I m a banker and have many contacts with cellphone and accessories distributors. u can write me back.. [email protected] else try on any of shopping site. i will wait...

Theoretically, you should be able to use this one forever, if you keep charging it. The battery isn't replaceable, so hopefully it will last you a good 3 years or more. The #1 threat to Mp3 players isn't the battery, but keeping up with software/computer environment changes. Most mp3 players introduced to date only last 1-2 years - much shorter than everyone had originally thought.

SOURCE: my computer wont reconize my mp3 player

Down load the firmware on Sansa's website. I have a Sansa 250R and it wouldn't work with the new replacement usb (Griffin) cord I bought at Best Buy. So I bought a Sansa Fuze and the cord that came with it worked on the E250R. Huh? Yeah, go figure...and oh, that replacement Griffin usb cord I bought worked fine with the new Fuze. I came real close to buying a new battery for the E250R but instead invested that money in the Fuze.

SOURCE: first battery charge after purchase

I would charge the Fuze fully before first use, actually this is what is recommended. You'll know when it is finished, as you will get a full green battery icon displaying.
The players are not fully charged when first shipped.

SOURCE: not charging

Try connecting directly to USB port on your computer, NOT a hub. It needs power to charge.
