Question about Maytag Dependable Care LAT9706

Servis 1200A caress washing machine trips electric

Reasonably newish 3yrsold ..has started to trip out the electric rcd ,it has never shown any signs of faults before ,could it be the waste water pipe is blocked or is it something that needs a repair man ?..update as soon as we switch it on now it trips the electric out ,changed the fuse so its not that ,any ideas??

A wiring harness may be loose and the vibration has worn through the insulation. Put it on the side and take a look for loose wires and rubbing.

If it trips the RCD then you have an electrical fault. Washing machine can do this once they are a bit old, or if they have had a water leak. The water gets into the electrical equipment and causes a fault that trips the RCD. If you have a circuit without an RCD try that. If it still trips, then the fault is serious and you will need to get it repaired. You can also try putting the washing machine into a warm place for a few days to see if it will dry everything out. Sometimes this will cure a fault if it is due to dampness.

A breaker trips if there is a fault. There are two sorts of breaker - the RCD or the Micro Circuit Breaker.

When the RCD trips it suggests a fault that is allowing current to leak to ground.

When an MCB trips it indicates the appliance is trying to consume too much current.

Either way the only way to find the fault is by dismantling the appliance and checking the circuitry with a multimeter.

rcd units trip from the milliamps that are in a short
it trips the rcd to prevent electrocution and acts in nano seconds besides being a circuit breaker for excessive current
the trip can be from moisture allowing a current leakage to ground or some other simple operation
I suggest that you get in a qualified electrician / bosch service technician to find the reason for the problem rcd

What is causing RCD to trip repeatedly?
RCD is a safety device and is meant to trip if it sees a ground fault or phase to phase fault and protecting you from a shock sounds like you have a heater problem or a fan,if unit runs for hours with no trip then heater, if trip a few minuets then fan ,the only way to find it is to mega ohm each part with in the unit.

not necessary-- yet-- to buy a new unit
tripping the rcd is an indication of earth leakage which could amount to water in the wall plug across pins, moisture across the power board, water in the motor, faulty heater element
what you need is an accredited electrician to run tests on the system to find the reason for the earth leakage that is tripping the rcd
the rcd works from microvolts and operates in nano seconds to prevent electrocution of the operator
testing before buying may save heaps of cash

Ensure it fully dries out before trying it again. Water in the electrics will throw your trip instantly. If it's dry now, and you are having the same problem. check the electrics for a short circuit or earth fault. Usually a compressor earth fault is to blame.

I have a maytag dependable care quiet pack heaqvy duty 2 speed super capacity 9 cycles washing machine. I did one load this morning, and when I put in the second load (this one consisting of towels), 20 minutes later, now there isn't anything noise from the timer, i think soemting died, I pull the knob and push the knob, but there is no response from the machine.

lat9706 leaks We have a Maytag Clothes Washer model LAT9706AAE and we seem to have water leaking. The input hoses are OK and the drain hose shows no sign of leakage. The tub fills OK. Is it possible that the tub is overfilling or splashing out when it spins Water seems to come from under the unit but not a flood of water.
