Try to adjust the lens by turning the white cog wheel slightly to the right. if it doesn't work try to turn it again its trial and error until it runs perfectly.

Did you remove the anti static solder blob (point) on your new laser with a soldering iron and solder wick prior to installing it? The symptons your explaining indicate that point is still intact, If so you will need to carefully remove it first then reinstall the laser and try again.

Re order the optical carrier ribbon, form the net and also make sure the optical laser is the right class, amp. Volt and resistance as the normal one. If you put in a different 'class' laser the device could be more damaged... hopefully not. Now your warranty is out the window as you have opened the box yourself. Firstly the easier thing is to buy a whole new blue ray device, it should be a Sony, (no surprise) just quote the serial number and device name on the web or on the phone and volla! Install the device and everything should be working. Good luck.

First of all the new laser lens will not allow your Slim to read NTSC UC games if you have a PAL european Console.

There is no reason the New laser should have not read the disc unless it Came to you damaged. It sounds like you know how to replace a laser.
