How to installing the windows 7 for dell desktop machine?
It depends. Assuming the machine is running XP now, do you want to keep anything on it, or are you fine with starting over? Also, what are the specifications (CPU, memory (RAM,) hard drive size and free space) on the machine?
If it's currently running XP, you probably have less than 4 Gb RAM and are running a 32 bit version. (Check by right clicking "My computer" and bringing up properties.) If you *really* don't know, most Dells have an Express Service Code on a tag on the machine - you can use that, paste it in on Dell's support site, and get the information from there.
The *best* way to do this, which will give the fewest problems and give the best experience, is to not upgrade but format the drive and just start cleanly. You should have the option to do this when you put the WIndows 7 DVD in and boot the machine. Be sure to save any data (documents, pictures and the like) from the current installation first, either onto disk or online services like Google Drive, MS Onedrive and the like. You *will* need to reinstall your programs, however.
