Not real familiar with this setup, but i don't think that telnet will work on this setup. Do believe that you have to use either desktop setup for this one or else it will be HTTP setup. Then again i might be remebering another setup. Anyway hope this helps

I'm not receiving e-mails, which have been sent to my address.

Check your Spam-folder or if the mail gets forwarded to another account. Maybe it's also sorted into another mailbox.
Check also that your collegues have the correct emailaddress

MTA specific reasons: Another possibility is that the mail gets rejected from the mailserver (e.g. due of possible spam), but the user who send the mail usually get notified about it (but sadly not from every mailserver).
If you have your own MTA: If the mailserver don't receive mails, it could be blocked by your network/router. You can check this by telneting to port 25 on the specific machine. Also check if your mailserver is really running (e.g. with "telnet localhost 25"). Sometimes networks are cutted of from sending mails like Dial-in-enduser networks (DUL), setted up to prevent spam.
That are the only reasons why you can't receive mail send to you. The first three possibilities you can check and fix after you identified it.

If there are 623 students and the ratio of girls is 2 to 3 boys. how many girls are there?

The best way to solve this is to develop one or more equations and then solve for the unknown numbers.

I solved this problem twice using different sets of equations to make sure I was right, and here is what I found:

1) I used the equations x + y = 623, and x = (2/3)y. In these equations, x is the number of girls and y is the number of boys.
Substituting the second equation into the first, I get (2/3)y + y = 623.
Adding the left side together I get : (5/3)y = 623.
Dividing both sides by (5/3) I get 373.8.
This means that x (the number of girls) is 249.2.

2) For the second attempt, I developed the equation: 2x+3x=623. Here 2x is the number of girls, and 3x is the number of boys.
Adding the left side I get: 5x = 623.
Dividing both sides by 5 I get: x = 124.6.
This means that the number of girls (2x) is 249.2. Just like in the first method.

But since you can't have a 1/5 of a girl, the answer must be 249 girls.

Loopback failed - 127.0.0.1 blocked - web page test not possible

Please explain:
Does it work if you use http://localhost?
Does it work if you use http://127.0.0.1?
If the first one does not, but the second does, it is possible that the issue can fixed simply by selecting.
IE-->Tools-->Options--> Connection --> LAN Settings Check Bypass Proxy for local addresses

If you can't telnet into your computer, make sure you have the Telnet service running :
  1. Click Start, then Run, and type "services.msc" (without quotes) and click OK.
  2. Find the "Telnet" service, right-click and select Properties, select "Automatic" instead of "Disabled" in the startup type box.
  3. Click Apply.
  4. Right-click the "Telnet" service and select Start.

Java.sql.SQLException: Network error IOException: Connection refused: connect

Hi,

I too was facing the same problem as mentioned by you and couldn't connect through telnet localhost 1433.
Solution : Just go to SQL server configuration manager----SQL Server Network configuration----Protocols for SQLEXPRESS and in that right click on TCP/IP and in properties field make all TCP/IP port to 1433 which is blank. Start and Restart the SQL server and you can telnet localhost 1433 and it works. Hope this will help.

Same Problem Again - Mega Raid.... Unknown Error

Hi

The title of your post suggests that you have "Maga RAID" errors. Maga RAID messages would be in line with issues on the LSI PERC sub-system.

However, the extract posted in your suggests network problems.

Any number of physical to driver and configuration issues can result in network problems.

Try the basic checks;
1. Change or try a known patch cable
2. Run "ping" test to a known good system connected to same network switch or direct connect with a "cross-over" cable and check for dropped connections.
3. Is the NIC and switch set to Auto-Negotiation or static at 10, 100 or 1000Mbps speed
4. Can you try another switch
5. Check and load correct or latest manufacture's drivers

Reply with more info.
