Cannot make calls to my home area code from more than 100 miles away. Can call all over the US, just not home. Can receive calls from all over including home, just cannot make them to home. Have to call family in Missouri or Wisconsin, have them call the 916 number and wait for the 916 folks to call me.

Ray has a good point - Here in San Francisco we have to add 1 plus the area code to dial any number
- If that solution fails, Then it is probably time to contact the carrier and find out if there any restrictions on your account

Just a thought....are you using the area code for your home numbers? Some phones allow defaulting to your home area code, but if you're away, you would need to dial the area code + number.

WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE HOME ONLY ON MY VALET TRACFONE? DO I NEED TO CHANGE THIS WITH TRAVEL? IS THERE A CATCH?

I believe this choice is to determine where most of calls/texts your will be made to. Choosing Home will designate your home area code as your most frequently called area (no roaming charges) while Travel will probably allow you to choose a different area code as your most frequently called area. When you call out of your chosen area code roaming charges apply. Example, if your current phone area code is 123 and you move to area code 321 you may want to change your Home or Travel designation depending on where most of calls are made to since you can't actually change your phone number.

As for your other question, you don't need wi-fi to text. It's like making a phone call, you simply choose message instead of dialing a number. Phone calls cost 1 unit, while text messages cost .30 units. (Units are the dollars you spend to buy minutes divided by the total number of minutes you receive) Hope that helps.

Motorola 376G cell phone has no towers

Valleys close to wireless towers usually cause call drops. Wireless carriers are always competing for coverage areas and improvements in reception. Switching carriers or buying prepaid emergency phones for dropped call areas is helpful.

I am setting up my Innovage Deluxe Corded Handheld Mini Flip Phone for use with my MagicJack while traveling. 1. I can receive incoming calls fine, just pressing the green phone button to connect and...

First i would say both units are still in good condition as you can still receive calls from them comfortably without any hassles. If you cannot dial out it is probably as a result of the area code or the dial code not being set correctly. The area code helps to determine which location the home phone is situated to enable the calls to be routed through the proper channels to enable connectivity. The dial out code basically does the same as the area code. Both of them are just like address systems to determine where and how the calls are routed. Try setting both codes and see if the calls still dont go.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

Magicjack will not work in minnesota in 320 it work last year .Im disalbed (brain injury) and have a hard time ..............imposable to call the doctors or clinic help me...

Please be absolutely sure its not an installation issue before using the the following suggestions. Magic Jacks are a little tempermental, often an uninstall/re-install is the real Magic. Remember to turn your volume up before clicking. Here's the You Tube Video.

Magic Jack offers only one, free, Area Code/Phone Number change. If yours is an issue which requires keeping your area code local to those who call you, click the following: Area Code look-up and use your State (not the area code), to find many area codes that is considered local to the people who call you. I found that 612 should be local to 320.

It only matters that you use the 320 code, to the people calling you; if they only have basic service and they cannot call you unless you are local, to them? Simply use the area code look-up website to find other area codes that are also local to 320, that are acceptable to you. There is a "contact us" link on that page, if you cannot find a local code using the web site.

Here is the Magic Jack Support phone number, if you cannot use the Magic Jack, you obviously can't use it to contact them by clicking the link above; this is The Chat Web Site. They can connect you, to your jack from their end, they can change your number for you and if your number is still available in a different area code they can transfer your number from (EXAMPLE: 320-789-4321 to 612-789-4321 if it is available) there may be an additional fee for that. Explain your situation and that it did work, but stopped working, since it isn't your fault, you could ask to change your number at no charge (it never hurts to ask, they could only say no and you would have had to pay to keep the number anyway ;-)

26" ILO digital T.V . won't pick up digital signals w/digital antanae.\r\nusing air in setup

So called digital antennas are generally a gimmick. The important factor to receiving stations is the antenna position and strength relative to the incoming signal. (Digital signals are either enough for the tuner or you get "no signal".)

Look at antennaweb.org or tvfool.com to find out what stations are likely to be received in your area and the direction to rotate the antenna; plug your address in the search area. Antennaweb is very conservative in its channel list even though it assumes an external antenna. Tvfool gives a list of the channels you should get with various antennas (labelled by color). This is a standard label that will be on the antenna specs or box (at least on good antennas). Tall buildings and trees in the area can reduce the channels you receive.

Adding an amplifier may help you gain signal strength for borderline stations (or if you split the signal to several devices).

I hope this helps.

Cindy Wells
(My house has an external antenna with an amplifier/splitter. Antennaweb suggested that we'd only get the stations from ~10 miles away. We get those stations and the ones from ~30 miles away with the antenna rotated for the further stations.)

Helio number is long distance in my local area

So the number issue, the area code here on appleton Wisconsin is 920 but there are some cities that are still long distance in the 920 area code like Green Bay which is only 20 miles from here (GO PACKERS)

you probably got a number for a different city in the same area code, maybe they didnt have numbers for your city?

As for incoming calls, did you try resetting the phone? if so, call helio and tell them you want to reprogram the phone, they will send a programming code to the phone. Mine did this for 2 days when it was new, i called and they got it straight for me, if you still have the box, call the activations line and not customer service, you will get through faster.
