Basically all analog audio inputs and outputs are complementary of each other, such as audio output mates with audio input or viceversa. Video output mates with video input. You typically should have a composite video connector on your both DVD and TV set. Reconnect them directly. As you can imagine, DVD audio and video outputs should go to audio and video inputs of your TV receiver. Good luck.

How to connect austar and a blue ray DVD player to tv

Hello,

your connection is wrong. Get a RCA wire. Yellow is video and white & red are audio.

Connect the wires to Output from the DVD. Video out and audio out. All that will be connected to the DVD will be output. The DVD is feeding out to the TV, so it is giving.

Now the all connections to the TV will be input. Because the TV is receiving from the DVD. Connect from the DVD to TV respectively.

Turn on the TV and DVD, then press Souce/AV on the TV. Now you should see a display and hear sound from the DVD through the TV.

I hope the above is clear. If not, please let me know.

Good luck.

Confused about Connections

Bob, you can do this, grab 3 rca cables, 1 yellow 1 red 1 white.
the holes on the back of the dvd are colored coded, you guessed it yellow ,red, white, plug the cables into the matching colored holes, your done with the dvd player, now take the other end of these 3 cables and guess what the plugs on the back of the tv are the same color code as well, take a flashlight and find the 3 colored holes marked " input 1" stick the yelloe cable in the yellow hole , red in red hole, white in white hole, turn on dvd player & tv, grab your remote for the tv and find the input button and push it until the screen show "vid1" or "video 1", input 1 what ever yours says and you`ll be watching your dvds. No sound on TV

If you do not get result you can purchase one video rf converter. Rf converter contains one video input in yellow colour and two audio in red and white colour and one cable connector as outout. Connect dvd output to this converter and tune the program in which place you receive dvd signal.

DVD PLAYS GREAT, TV AND VCR PLAY IN BLK-WHT W/NO SOUND

You have your DVD connected to your VCR, which is then connected to your TV, right? The problem is Macrovision. It's designed to prevent you from connecting your DVD player to your VCR, so that you can't make duplicates of copyrighted movies. It's a real pain in the neck. Try turning the DVD player off - or better yet, unplugging its power cord (as some DVD players are always in a standby mode, even when turned off). If that fixes the problem, then you need to reconnect your DVD player directly to the TV, not wired through the VCR. If your DVD player isn't wired through the VCR, are you using some kind of wire splitter (one cable branches into two) to connect both the DVD player and VCR? That can also cause this kind of interference, if both have power at the same time. There are video switches you can get to work around that. Here's one such switch (first I found for a decent price with a google search): http://www.pickeasy.com/20070827-video-selector-switch-video-game-p-555.html Hope that helps.
