why need to press numlock when it has already a numeric numbers above? when pressing numlock on a laptop it will turn the letters to number because you lock the it. now to go back on the letters you have to press again the numlock key.
Hold function (Fn) key down and press the key on the top row that has a sign (picture) showing a padlock insde a square. (Num lock key) Normally "scroll" key
If you hold down the Fn (function key) and hit one of the NumLock keys, this will type those NumLock characters usually printed in blue on the keytop). Also this is different on virtually every laptop, but one key should say NumLock or have a picture of a lock on it in blue. This is the NumLock and it is toggled by holding the Fn key and that key.
