I have a Panasonic also and was initially vexed by this same thing. The solution to get the number is to press the right arrow on the 4 way button. Also you can redial that number by hitting the green key. You can also call block calls on your CID list - really handy...
Using the Caller ID and Redial Lists Caller ID (CID) is a service available from your telephone provider that shows the phone number (and sometimes the caller's name) of incoming calls. Contact your telephone provider for more information. Caller ID list
Redial list
When a call comes in, the phone displays the number and name (if available) of the caller.
The phone saves the information for the last 30 received calls to the
CID list.
When it's in standby, the handset shows how many calls came in since the last time you checked the CID list.
Each handset remembers the last 5 numbers you dialed on it. The redial list is separate for each handset.
I have this same problem and am very unhappy with this system because of it. I've had Panisonic before and never have had this problem. I'd return the phones but it's been more than 2 weeks.
Redial, speed dial enter the code(60- 99) for system speed dial
(10- 49) for personal speed dial. enter the phone number or the number you want to program then press redial.
I have just purchased the Shift3 Talking Caller ID Phone. For some reason, the talking caller ID function does not work, i.e., no announcement is made identifying the number of the person calling. The "Set 8 Speech" is set "on". Any suggestions to getting this to work?
You will need to customize your Call log settings to show which area code your located in so it will redial from the log properly. To do so, push Menu, then scroll to system settings, push select, then scroll to Area Codes, push select and specify the area code that you are in. If you need additional assistance, go to the link below which is the full manual on PDF, then go to page 48. Hope that helps. http://www.barclayent.com/manuals/Gigaset%202420%20Plus_guide.pdf
store the number in memory just as you need it area code and phone number together with name or place of interest then just select it from from phones internal directory when you need to call the phone number again.
