Hello Sandeen, Thanks for the detail & I have contacted these locations yet there's something very troubling going on here regarding my request. Here's my analogy, anyone that buys a new car for say $30,000 or any amount for that matter always receives their owners manual thats usually placed in the glove box for safe keeping. Now a few years later the car owner needs to service or perform a DIY repair & obviously has to go out & buy the actual Service/Repair Manual for the vehicle thats worth $30,000 (lets pretend its an Audi so it holds its value after 3yrs). So the owner pays approx $10 for the entire service/repair manual which is the exact same book that any Audi dealership or Authorized Audi repair shop would have clearly. So this brings me to my point. I paid top dollar for my mixer, I am also a fellow member of the music industry both in the academic & professional disciplines (Music Theory/Pro-Audio Sound Engineer Bachelors Degree in both from Azusa Pacific University) as well as my own fully functional recording studio suite located in Los Angeles. I cant keep track of how many DIY servicing/repairs I've performed on equipment, gear, speakers, turntables, CDJ's, mixers, lighting, live stage rack mount gear, make my own audio cables from scratch, the list goes on. I'm very proud at the fact that I can perform such servicing/repairs but only through my many years of experience am I actually able to successfully get it right since school doesnt teach you the service/repair side of it. With that said why wont either location that you provided me (Pasadena & Hollywood) are willing to work with me on my rightfully made request as an owner of my 5000FX to purchase the technicians service/repair manual or at least visually view the page I need to see for a job that's going to take me less than 5min to complete on my own personal mixer? They both sound almost as if they're lying to me flat out & simply trying to rip me off & with that I am not allowed to own or purchase the technicians service/repair manual for the mixer that I bought that obviousoly doesnt come with one in the units box. In the 17yrs I've been in this industry never have I had a vendor, manufacturer, producer of goods ever give me a hard time or question me when I requested specific literature for an item they manufacture not once. If what happened to me yesterday occured to me over the past 17yrs I would have never been able to gain so much hands on knowledge with such a large variety of equipment as I have. Now do you understand why I used the vehicle purchase as an analogy, because for a $30,000 car you can buy the service/repair manual with no problem at all & you can complete your DIY repair. However for a $899 NuMark 5000FX Mixer (hardly a comparison) I can't purchase or even have a technician show me the page that I seek??? Does this make sense at all to you...Get back to me we need to find an alternative solution & thank you. Best Regards

In contrast, Professional fighting gloves used in competition are less padded to deliver more damage to your opponent in the game. I think you have been lucky! Many manufacturers do not want you to do your own servicing or updating, and guard their Technical stuff jealously. Letting anyone use it opens it up to copycat manufacturing.
Big Steve I never gave it a fraction of a second as a thought of being lucky, rather it was BAU (Business As Usual). Again I point out the large investment of a vehicle that anyone can go out pay approx $10 and own the Technicians Service/Repair manual for their vehicle that costs much more than a mixer. Obviously while under warranty its a no brainer you take it in while under warranty as you would for your mixer. However when that warranty runs you can simply pullout your car makers manual & technical detail with no secrecy to perform a DIY repair thats necessary. Besides whats the need for secrecy when my mixer is DC'd model & clearly my warranty has expired. I'm more than able & actually over qualified to perform this fix which consists of (11 separate pinned plugs) that simply needs to be re-connected to the internal PCB board seriously thats all thats needed. Just as if you went out & bought a new harddrive you'd have to connect the pinned plug that simply slides into the open slot on a motherboard. Yes this is all that I need to do for the mixer is slide the pinned plugs back into their places on the internal board but I need the mapping layout of these plugs. So I hope you enjoy your +5 or +10 points by not even providing a solution but more of a personal experience or comment instead good job FixYa.
BTW this discovery I just made gives no credibility to your personal exsperience or comment. If I had a newer NuMark mixer say a x06 or X09 both of these mixers Technicians Service/Repair Manuals are available for FREE online right now & neither of these mixers are discontinued& I'm sure most owners of these mixers are still under warranty. So what do you have to say to that Big Steve, what I can say is your response sounded a lot like the "Supposed Authorized Repair Centers Response," nothing more than a falsehood, misleading statement or comment thanks again.
I am sorry you took my comments that way - it was intended to be helpful. I stand by what I said - not all manufacturers are willing to give highly technical support to a customer - regardless of how highly qualified or expert you may be. That is just a fact of life. Because car manufacturers freely enable any user to but technical manuals does not mean that every one does. Whether they should is another question.
Its a discontinued model so whats the point of the secrecy in this day of transparency, theres no reason why owners of products that they purchased should accept what seems to be the attitude towards "just send your item in to the authorized repair dealer, since they will not sell or share specific technical details for your repair." Its outright ludicrous to think for a 5min re-connection of pinned plugs to the internal board is going to have me pay $45, ship it to God knows where & hopefully it returns without any new problems than before it left. Flat out I dont trust sending my item to anyone & to have it take 3 weeks to be shipped back is well you get my position on it. BTW if this is truly their position on the subject matter at hand then tell me this. If I was an owner of a NuMark X06 or X09 of which are more recent productions and still available (meaning not discontinued) I can easily go online which I discovered while looking for my mixers technical manual & no joke 100% FREE download of these mixers Technicians Service/Repair manuals?
