Can't change to "av mode"

Hi. i have a 32" lcd . I played ps2 in "av mode" and one day, i can't change to av mode. Other modes(component 1, component 2,etc) works.I called a technician, he entered into the service mode(the hidden menu) and he can change to av mode in the service mode. When i exit service mode, i can't change to av mode. Is there a solution or is there some way to change to any mode whether or not my ps2 is plugged in because my Lcd can only change into modes that are plugged in. I m sorry if my english is confusing and i can't do anything with warranty or the samsung company in my country. Thanks in advance.

My PS2 is connected via component and the picture is black and white in 576i

It might be the av cable that is causing your PS 2 console to be playing in black and white. I would try and use the standard av cable hookups for your PS 2 and see if it makes a difference. If it is still in black and white then it could be there is something internally wrong with your PS 2 console.

I have a 32" flatscreen

Different video signals use different connections ...and we are speaking ONLY the video(NOT including the audio connections)
  • Composite Video (typically colored Yellow) uses 1 RCA connection on your TV
  • Svideo (uses 1 svideo connector on your TV) a circular connector with 4 pins in it
  • Component Video (typically colored Red/Green/Blue) uses 3 RCA connections on your TV
These are the common analog video signals....You cannot mix and match these and plug a composite (Sometimes called AV in menus) into component etc
If both your sources (wii/DVD) you want to use a component signal to your TV (which BTW is the best quality of the 3 I listed) you will need 2 component inputs on your TV
OR
run it through a high end receiver (that will act as your switcher)
OR
buy a small stand alone switcher, something like: http://www.amazon.com/4X1-HD-Component-Av-Selector/dp/B000BVIBGI/ref=pd_sim_sbs_e_4

settle for a lower quality DVD signal and use the Composite video out (yellow jack) into the Composite Video In on the TV and use the component for wii

I hope this helps,

LCD TV Wii only displays black and white - no colour no sound

You have to option in LCD Source In-Put.All LCD Have this In-Put
Com posit-Yellow/Red/White (AV)
In LCD Select AV Mode After That Connect Yellow /Red/White as per color pin given in your LCD.
Component-Green/Blue/Red
If you have Component in put in your LCD than select from source component mode for Red/Blue/Green.

Poor quality picture with old game consoles (XBOX and Gamecube) Looks like I'm playing drunk

Thats technology at its finest. Even with component cables the picture will look horrible.

But, if you are using standard AV cables, try upgrading to component. You may try switching your tv mode to 4x3 instead of 16x9
