You may have a carbon build up on the ignition probes but this will normally cause a lock out. It may be that the circulating pump is faulty. Ie boiler fires up but due to no circulation it shuts down on the boiler stat and as the heat remains in the boiler it will not fire again until the heat has dissapated. Changing a circulating pp can be done by a confident DIYer but remember due to new legislation the old three speed pps are no longer available. You will need to purchase a modulating pump to match you existing pump. Old and new pump threads and spacing a are the same.

1991 firebird has spark fuel pump running. will start sometimes and run perfect if you shut it off it will not restart until it wants to still has spark and fuel pump.changed coolant sensor no help any...

Try this - CLEAN your battery cables both top & BOTTOM. Everybody cleans the tops but ignores the bottom ends which are exposed to grease, grime road sludge. What makes me suspect of cables - when cold cables contract and make good contact. As soon as they heat up, they expand and any grease or dirt adds resistance.

Car stops while driving

Your car has a bad optispark. You'll need to replace the unit. My 93 did the exact samer thing. It ran like a champ when it was cold, but the second it warmed up it died. THe one thing you can try is to let it just run, this will build up heat in the optispark unit and help to dry up the moisture that has built up inside it. It may help for the short term, however the problem is that by the time this actually starts happening the unit is already finished. THe other thing I noticed with mine was it was especially bad after a rain fall.....Hope this helps.
