How to load batteries in n2020 - Nikon N2020 35mm SLR Camera

Battery holder is under bottom cover. Remover large silver screw. Clean battery holder in case of leakage

Remove top cover. Make sure shutter speed dial is connected with contacts.

It doesn't make that much difference, as long as you stick with the major brands. I've used both Duracell and Energizer, both rechargeables and alkalines, in my N2020. That wasn't an endorsement, just a statement regarding which batteries I had on hand.

You can change the batteries without disturbing the film. The batteries go into the bottom. Use a coin to turn the screw on the bottom of the camera, then lift off the cover. The camera takes four AAA batteries.

Happy ending to this saga of the Nikon N2020 AF. I went to Walmart and purchased some real photo grade batteries. At first the result was the same, no apparent change, dead camera. I left the batteries in the camera overnight. The next day I tried depressing the shutter button with the camera turned on to S for single shot, and to my amazement the camera came alive! I don't know why or how but now it works and I don't have to bring it in for servicing. Today we will be off to the local zoo to take some shots. Can't wait. Thanks for all the comments and suggestions.

"Turn the on knob"? You turn on the N2020 by lightly pressing the shutter release button. Do the meter indicator LEDs inside the viewfinder light up when you lightly press the shutter release button?

it is on the top, a lock button you press down and a slide button that engages the rewind, if the batteries are dead it will not rewind.
