Does your Garmin GPSMAP 545s freeze up?
Is the screen stuck, or do you loose satellite coverage?

I recommend upgrading the system software of your Garmin 545s. There may not be physical damage to your unit, and it may be completely revitalized by replacing the GPSMAP software with the latest version 5.30 (as of January 7, 2010).

  1. Click on "Download" and choose to save the file to your computer.
  2. Choose a location where you can easily find the file, such as the 'My Documents' folder or 'C:\'.
  3. Once the download is complete, go to the location where you saved the file.
  4. Double-click on the downloaded file. This will automatically extract the files to C:\Garmin and run a program to transfer the software update to an SD card.
  5. Load the SD card into your GPSMAP 545s and turn it on to replace the system software of your unit.

My preform belt slips

Remove the hood cover and get the motor drive belt. Do not over tighten the walking belt because you would damage the belt and rollers

My proform 545s keeps blowing fuse. worked a coupla of weeks first time I replaced it , now blows as soon as I turn it on

1) Lube the deck belt use 100% silicones or wax, read your instruction manual
2) Lube the rollers bearing use wd-40
3) Replace fuse and see if is o.k now
4) If the problem persist you must test the tension for drive belt motor, and adjust it according.
5) Test the input voltage motor, see my personal TIPS for motor help and troubleshooting.
6) Use the treadmills directing from the source DO NOT USE any extension power cord!
7) Test again if the problem persist,now you have power supply or control board faulty. see the block diagram.attached.

Pro-Form 545s......pushing speed #1 starts at 1.6....#2 starts at 3.2 and so forth

1) The normal functions is gradual o.1mph and so on until you reach the maximun speed.

2) check the speed sensor

If LED does not light, inspect:1. Optic sensor signal wires and theirconnections; Reinsert wire ends into connectors.2. Whether optic sensor wheel rotates in themiddle of the sensor; If not, reinstall the optic sensor wheel.3. Whether optic sensor wheel teeth are brokenor bent; if so, replace the optic sensor wheel.4. If LED2, the VCC circuit indicator, on thedrive board lights and there is no optic sensor signal output(LED does not light), andif optic sensor wires and connections are good, replace the optic sensor.

I have a Pro-form 595PI treadmill..bought it used and has been working great until now.It seems that when I get on it , it seems to be slipping and not a fluid motion to walk or run on...Whats up???

check tension on the w/belt to loose will make it slip other wize check your drive motor belt thats under the hood. if you see a bunch of black dust your belt is worn replace

My pro form 380 stops while I am walking

Either the walk belt is loose or the front roller pully has spun. In order to determine which one, you need to remove the moter cover and watch the drive belt and front roller while you walk, try to stop the belt and see which one stops. If the walk belt stops and the front drive roller keeps turning, then you need to put a couple of turns on the rear allen bolts. If the roller stops when the walk belt stops, see if the drive belt(small one going to the motor) stops as well. If the drive belt turns fine,but the walk belt and the front roller stop, you need to replace the front roller, because the plastic pully that is connected to the roller, is pressed on and cannot be tightened.
