Freezer not getting cold and dripping water

Water is leaking under the freezer and the freezer is not keeping things as frozen as it has in the past, nor does it make as much ice and the ice is wet not as cold as fully frozen. Also the fan runs constantly, does this mean the compressor is always running too ? The compressor and coils are on the top of this unit and I have cleaned the coils but noting has improved.

I own a similar Kitchen Aid fridge that had a defrost icing issue: Kitchen Aid KSRP25FNBL00
> Ice had plugged the drain hole at bottom of chill coil section inside the freezer compartment.
> I learned that the coil, circulation fan was not working, but condenser was working.
> I paid a tech to replace the circ fan, about $200, including a new swiss-made fan. He said it was unusual for these fans to fail, but not unheard of.
Expensive, but saved the purchase of a new fridge. Has worked great for 6 months since then.
HOpe that helps.

SOURCE: ice build up on coil inside freezer

it can be two things the refrgerator probably has a small refrigerant leak therefore it ices up, or the defrosting heater on the begining of the coil is faulty.

I have an admiral fridge freezer model number GS2126CEDW.water keeps leaking from the front of the freezer and a build up of frozen water has accumalated at the bottom of the freezer.A person has advised...

hello again,

Sorry to hear that the drain is clear and not the problem, some of the other things that cause that water are;

Freezer door gasket...is it curled up in the corners espicially on the hinged side so air is leaking in and condensating resulting in water

The tube that send water into the icemaker is partially frozen so when water enters the icemaker it's being sprayed and dripping to the bottom(if thats the case ice would probably be built up all over the freezer)

The door for the ice dispenser isn't fully closing and will cause condesation just like the door gasket would

Good luck,

The icemaker moter activates when we push the lever, the water comes out.the icemaker won,t make ice.Could the white tubing back of the freezer be frozen.Refrige moter when pluged in is noisy.

If water fills the tray them no it isn't frozen. Make sure the freezer is getting cold and that the water is sitting in the tray and not leaking out. What is the freezer temp. put a thermometer in there for 20 minutes. Zero celcius or below and 32 f or below preferably. 33 f won't do it even if it seems cold. Vacuum out coils under fridge and be careful not to tear things up under there.

Water leak behind/under refrigerator

next time send the brand name and model number?this could be a few things, first thing to do if water is hooked up to fridge shut it down and see if it stops, also shut off the ice maker because no water will be going to it,if it stops then you could have a crack in one of the plastic water lines,if there isn't water hooked up to it or you shut off water and you still see a leak the drip pan could be cracked, when the machine goes into defrost a heater comes on in the freezer and melts the ice off of the evaporator coil, the water drains down into a pan where the compressor is,the heat from the compressor and condenser coil evaporates the water,or check the freezer floor,if there's ice on the floor of the freezer the drain line gets blocked and the defrost water can't drain down where compressor is,the water leaks onto freezer floor and then will drip out onto floor.these are the things to check, cracked water line or valve, cracked drain pan or blocked drain in freezer.

Water is not draining into pan. it is going inside fridge under

sounds like a drain clog in the freezer compartment above. remove the freezer rear panel and totally defrost the evaporator area, directly under the evap you see( under all taht ice) a small drain hole that has become frozen over, try defrosting with either a hair dryer( not a heat gun too much heat youl melt everything) or by pouring hot water donw the drain until you get a free flow of water down the tube. after its clear reassemble and you should be fine

Water dripping into refrigerator from freezer

DRAIN TROUGH IS PLUGGED OR FROZEN. EMPTY FREEZER AND REMOVE LOWER TRAY TO SEE A HOLE ALL THE WAY IN THE BACK USUALLY IN THE CENTER. CHECK TO SEE IF WATER CAN DRAIN THROUGH BY POURING A CUP OF IT INTO HOLE. IF IT IS FROZEN POUR HOT WATER UNTIL IT THAWS, IF PLUGGED REMOVE THE OBJECT.

Bottom of freezer has water dripping into it

A bad freezer door seal causes condensation that freezes at the bottom of the unit. I realize you said the drip pan was full of ice, but if the drain is clogged, that will happen. If that unit has the pan at the very bottom, condensation can also contribute to this.
