the problem is the battery it has way to much power. usually alarm clock use alkaine battries or energiezer they are best made for things like alarm clocks

I had same problem at watch makers and the put the old battery back for the digital secnods count and it started working. I guess the moral of the story is don't replace the digital seconds battery.

Battry must go - (minus) into the movement and +(plus) facing up. As battery replacement must be done with watch upside down, you must see the +(plus) on battery when it is inserted into the movement and the fit the contact over it.

First you have to check if the battery is on full power, as sometimes even brand new batteries are underpowered. Good battery should have 1.54 - 1.57 Volts of charge.
If battery is ok and watch still not working - get the battery out and clean (scrape) all battery related contacts with steel needle untill they are shiny. Use the dust blower to get rid of cmall dirt particles.
Replace the battery. Now the watch should work.
If the watch doesn't work after cleaning contacts, then this is mechanical fault and you will need watchmakers help.
