Kenmore Elite countertop microwave model 721.79153010 has no power, completely stopped working.

I was cooking, smelled a brief electrical smell, then the entire unit turned off. It just stopped working. No power on the display, inside light...nothing. We checked our socket, it is fine. . Please help, it's not even 2 years old. We have the owners manual, but it's no help.

Has an internal fuse. but you need to find out why it has blown, has it been making any funny sounds while cooking. ??

Testimonial: "No funny sounds or electrical smell until right before it stopped working."

it may be fine then if you replace the internal fuse, it will be in a black/brown case on the red wire fuse is an inch long type 6amp i think will have the rating on the fuse any way so put the same type back in. remember not to use it without the cover on you can do your self harm if it is leaking. any strange sound coming from the unit don't use it.

SOURCE: kenmore elite microwave touch screen stopped working

Same thing happened to us. We just came back from Sears, where we bought another. Just for giggles, my wife suggested unplugging the old one and plugging it back in again. It works now. New one's going back to the store.

SOURCE: kenmore elite microwave oven displays "Locked" and will not respond

My Kenmore Elite microwave (don't have the model number in front of me) also mysteriously locked its own keypad (we were sitting in an adjacent room, heard a strange beep, and got up to find the LED reading "Locked."). I pressed and held down the Stop/Clear button for ~10 seconds and it returned to normal.

SOURCE: Owners manual for Kenmore Elite Microwave Model 66462

A full Sears/Kenmore model number has 3 digits, a dot, then 8 more digits, such as ###.########

You can just enter your full model number at the Sears parts site.

On the resulting page, look to the right for the blue "View manuals" button. Click there.

That Sears-related site has many free manuals. While the manuals they list there are all free, they will ask you to register.

Many times, the owner's manual will have the installation instructions inside.

If yours is not listed there for free, you would have to order it through the
Sears parts site.

There is a line fuse for this oven. Remove the cabinet and the fuse should be close to the line cord. Replacement fuses should be found at your local appliance supply house.

E-1 error on my Kenmore microwave, will not work?

https://homeguides.sfgate.com/cuisinart-bread-maker-error-codes-13409633.html

Error code ERROR 1 presents on Kenmore Elite countertop microwaves with model numbers 56561582011, 16755, 56561584011 or 56561589011. ERROR 1 occurs when the unit has not received enough power to undertake a sensor cooking operation. Sensor cooking is a feature of Kenmore Elite microwaves that adjusts the temperature and cook time of dishes contingent upon information received by sensors in the microwave. In order to perform this function, a microwave must be plugged into a power source for at least five minutes previous to doing so. Thus, ERROR 1 indicates that the unit has not been plugged in for a sufficient length of time.

Kenmore elite microwave 79203 buzzes when off

It sounds like you have a shorted cook relay on your control circuit board.

That can usually be repaired more economically than replacing the circuit board.

Kenmore elite microwave 721.80833 stops cooking intermittently

Check the door switches if one is bad it may think the door is being opened and stop the unit from running. If it is from a bad connection it will get worse as it gets hotter while running.

I have a Kenmore Elite Ultra Heatwave Technology microwave which started smelling "electrical" and it just quit. The lights still work and the panel still works, but it does nothing when you hit...

This almost always means the magnetron tube, which supplies the microwaves, has failed. The smell comes from parts inside the tube that overheat and burn out. Once the tube goes, everything else appears to work but there's no heating without the microwaves.

The tube can be replaced, but the repair should be done by a professional. Microwave ovens are very hazardous to work on, and if the repairs aren't done properly then microwave leakage can be a concern. The tube generally costs around $50 to $75, and I have no clue what labor is going for these days. If you want to keep this oven, let a service technician give you an estimate for the repair. Then you can compare the repair cost against that of a replacement oven. For countertop models, it's usually cheaper to buy a new oven, but for an over-the-range model the repair might be worthwhile. The ovens are more expensive, and yours might be a custom installation.

I have a Kenmore Elite microwave oven... 69-65e05590-000637. We noticed that it would not heat food or liquids... played with the power level a bit and it started to heat again...then a day or two later we...

Is this oven still under warranty? If so, take advantage. If not, remove the power plug and the case. Short out, with a screwdriver, the large can-shaped capacitor with two terminals sticking out. Check the wiring and circuit board for signs of burning. If everything looks ok, remove the thin sheet metal wave guide that sits above or beside the microwave energy port into the cooking cavity. Under the sheet metal, there is a metal fan-like device called a 'stirrer' that has a plastic bearing. Remove this stirrer and smell the bearing. If it smells like the burning wire smell, replace the stirrer. You can buy it through 'Sears Parts' online.

High pitched hum/buzz

By high-pitched, you mean it is not that same frequency as when it's cooking? Is the tone near or the same as the beep you hear when you press a key? Please post a little more information so we can help better.
