Try this Go to start, run and type d: or e: or f: one at a time. One of the letters will be your drive Sometimes explorer cannot see the drive when it is there but typing the drive letter shows the contents. Also you can go to control panel, administrative tools , computer management, disc management and you should see the drive there. You can change the drive letter by right clicking on it. i hope the device is being recognized by os probably windows... if yes some times drive letter doesnt come up in explorer..try typing < next alphabet of last drive letter >: in explorer address bar.
for example if last drive is F: windows try typing G: in address bar in explorer.

suddenly stopped playing DVD's. It is showing the drive but on clicking

Driver could be corrupt. Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off.
I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with
the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the
printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.

I suggest finding a friend with an XP machine. Connect to that one, and if it works, it means Vista does not yet have the correct driver for this player. Dont expect a lot of success with video. Tons of people are not able to play video at all, eventhough it will download to the player fine.
