Device manger says Hitachi extrenal hardrive is present and working but 'my computer' dosenot show it therefore I cannot read any information

Try this
Go to start, run and type d: or e: or f: one at a time. One of the letters will be your drive
Sometimes explorer cannot see the drive when it is there but typing the drive letter shows the contents.
Also you can go to control panel, administrative tools , computer management, disc management and you should see the drive there. You can change the drive letter by right clicking on it.
I hope I have been of help but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
I appreciate your vote if you appreciate my reply.

To light of print in part of Letters

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

Vista + mp4 player= not working! help

I suggest finding a friend with an XP machine. Connect to that one, and if it works, it means Vista does not yet have the correct driver for this player. Dont expect a lot of success with video. Tons of people are not able to play video at all, eventhough it will download to the player fine.
