This feature is turned on and off in the system BIOS.

During startup, hit either the DEL or the F2 key to enter the setup.

Read through the items found there until you find the keyboard options.

Acer management software not loaded. Doa system restore to a day before the problem started. If still no good, alt+F10 at boot time to restore it to factory condition. Back up important files first, as this will wipe the c: drive....

let me know if this works or not.

I want to assign a new shortcut

To assign any new function you would need a software for it. Is a lot better to just use functions already on system, like Fn+F8 (on my Acer). Is just a key more.

Where do i ftnd mute on my acer computer

Different laptops have different mute keys, one that Acer uses is fn+F8 (the blue function key(bottom left) and the F8 together). Windows also has a mute, left click the speaker icon (bottom right of screen) and when the volume bar appears theres a speaker icon at the bottom of the slider bar click that and it should mute the sound, click again and it should unmute.

I cant find my volumen keys on my acer aspire 5517

The physical volume keys on many laptops are either represented in the function keys (e.g. F1, F2, etc.) or sometimes in the arrow keys (on some Acers).
To use the keys, you need to press the blue [Fn] key (that is usually by the CTRL key) and then press the volume key on the function/arrow key to increase or decrease volume. There should also be a mute key that can be used similarly.

Acertravelmate4000 got it used, don,t know how to turn off mute, turn on or up volume

The volume may be muted. In Windows, look at the volume
control (speaker) icon on the taskbar. If it is crossed-out, click on
the icon and deselect the Mute option.
The speakers may be turned off. Press Fn-F8 to turn the speakers
on (this hot key also turns the speakers off).
The volume level may be too low. In Windows, look at the volume
control icon on the taskbar.
Fn-? Volume up Increases the sound volume. Fn-? Volume down Decreases the sound volume.

If this helps u let me know
