My receiver was working fine yesterday then today when I went to turn it on, the receiver did like a reset and turned itself on back again and then it gets stuck on acquiring signal. I've disconnected a few times and turned it back on but it stays the same, stuck. Please help!!!
To whom it may concern,
I have been a technician in the field for years, and your best course of action will be simply to contact Dish Network and set up a Technician visit. There are a plethora of issues that could be causing your signal loss, including but not limited to:
Corroded Fitting, Loose Connection, Obstruction in Line of Site of Dish, Faulty switches(Diplexer, Triplexer, Separater ETC.), Inoperable Receiver..
The list goes on and on, and your best bet would simply be to call Dish for a Service Technician. Please ensure that you have the service protection plan on your account which is an additional $7.99/mo if I am not mistaken.. This will prevent you from paying a $95 Tech fee.
Best of wishes,
Dish Guy

SOURCE: DISH Network DVR-625 - Audio Problem
FIRST TRY CONNECTING THE RECEIVER TO THE TV VIA A DIFFERENT MEDIUM SUCH AS RCA INPUTS IF CURRENTLY CONNECTED WITH COAX.
If the problem is still evident you can send the TV1signal to TV2 or vice versa. This is accomplished by switching the output cables from tv 1 to tv 2 and changing the tv you want to use as your "monitor" to the proper channel. If viewing tv1 on tv2 change the TV channel from 60 air or 73 cable to 3. if using tv1 to view tv2 the process is the oppposite from 3 to 60air or 73cable.
To check which channel tv2 is modulated to do the following:
go to TV2 and with it on press menu, 6, 1, and then 5 on the Dish remote. That will dispay both tv output channels. You only need to be concerned with TV2.
This should isolate the problem by either it being present on both TV's using the TV1 output, which would mean the internals of the receiver are faulty, or if it is fine on the other TV it would indicate that the problem lies with the TV itself which is unlikely. This is assuming the FIRST method did noyt resolve the problem.
You may also want to try running the medium source from the back of the receiver directly to the TV.
This is all assuming you receive your locals through the satellite and not an off air antenna. Hope this helps you out.

Unfotunately this is an event known as power cycling and the only resolution is another receiver. This issue is due to faulty internal components and has nothing to do with anything other than that fact. If you have further questions feel free to contact me. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

Hey there! Becki Barned with Dish Network customer service here!! I am sorry for your DVR issue! To get that resolved, if it has not been already, try to unplug the receiver from the power source for 10 seconds. If thsi does not work, a new receiver may be needed. Blog back if any other questions!!!!!

Christy Hartl,
I can definitely look this over with you. This sounds like it is on one receiver. It is possible it could be the equipment, but first I would like you to check something for me.
Go to Menu -> Preferences (8) -> Closed Captioning (6) -> Caption On/Off (1). Make sure it is selected for "CC is on." Once that's enabled, try it again. If CC's are still not showing, press 'Info' on the remote and see if CC is listed on the program. Let me know if you have any questions.
