Unasked for information pops up on the bottom of the screen

It looks like it ought to be in a TV sales store. "Series 4, clear image panel, 600 hz, homi x3, mega dynamic contrast," in color and with logos, stay on screen for about 15 annoying seconds every five or so minutes or when volume is changed.

SOURCE: Remote volume control for Sharp Aquos 42inch LCD not working

User 'rapolley' is absolutely right. One can cycle through the functions to access different options, ie. 'TV', 'Audio', 'DVD', etc. I stumbled upon this solution when I thought my 'Menu' button wasn't working. All I had to do is cycle through the 'Functions' and choose 'Menu' once I get to 'TV'. Thanks!

SOURCE: Sony Bravia No signal plus flickering image and

You know how to reset the tv to its factory setting, I think you are a technician. Second thing you can do is software update. Go to http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=KDL42V4100&LOC=3#div_pos_30 . If it doesn’t work. Replace the Main board (UB board). Part # A-1547-086-A Cost approx $320.

Knowledge obtain from: Repair experience on same symptom.
Parts reference: Andrews electronics, 800 289 0300.

How to fix Multi color Vertical Lines on a Vizio E470i-AO TV

Does the menu function display the same lines? What kind of cables are using ? (HDMI, Component vid, S-video, co-ax)
Were you as tenacious checking all cables/connections as you were the electronics? Lets rule out this all too often over-looked possibility.
Do you still get the lines with nothing connected to the TV? (no source connected)

I have a 40" TCL TV with one black vertical line on the screen.

Your set has some board that performs the function to connect the screen to the video-generation function of the TV. Either your LED/LCD screen is failing or the video function is failing. If the set is under warranty, contact the manufacturer using the information on the warranty statement. Try using a different video input (hdmi/composite/etc) for the TV and see if you get the same line on all inputs. If there is no separate board, the next step would be to try and replace the main video board. With the prices falling on lower resolution TV's, it would probably be cheaper to replace the TV than trying a repair, if it is out of warranty. 40" 1080p TV's can be had for less than $200 at some sales (e.g. Black Friday).

Confusion installing drivers on Dell Latitude 120L laptop running XP

to run duel screens you will need a graphic board that has 2 outlets
I run a nvidia board and it has a dvi and vga outlets connected to 2 monitors
open up the control panel and go to display

that will show 2 screens and they will be identified as 1 and 2
the printing will be for one screen and it will say -make this my main screen
further down will be a dropdown box that will have extend screen
click on that
as for the screen size or pixal settings click and drag the slide button up to the top and click on apply
any way in that display section you can move and click on different settings to get what you want, always apply to fix the settings selected
it will come back with a message --do you want to retain the settings and if you are happy --click on yes
regardless of what you choose , you can always reset at a later time

Look for any magnetic materials around that area. Try changing the input device to something you know works for sure.
