Baking & broiling elements won't heat after baking element burned out and was replaced.

the surge from the original element burning out has destroyed the control board if you can't hear the relays on the board clicking when you power up the elements bake or broil then its either the low voltage side of the board,if you hear clicking then the relays are working but the contacts are burned out and can't pass the current to heat the oven or briol elements

When the oven gets dirty and you don't run the clean cycle, dirt builds up and burns away the hotter the oven gets. Run the clean cycle if you have a self clean mode on the oven. throw the metal burner and grates in the oven too. (no plastic) open a window because it will stink and it takes a few hours to run. If not, use oven cleaner then run the oven to the hottest temp for at least 1-2 hours to burn the old dirt out..

When your looking for this part it is called the "Stone Deck"

36" X 60" for most Y600 Models. FixYa is a "help you" site not a full blown retail outlet.

This is the Y-600-(old style) manual:

The oven will not ignite its a whirlpool model sf380pew

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. The air holes on the side of the burner that faces the center of the stove may be clogged or holes near the oven are clogged which are leading to uncompleted combustion of the fuel and thus leading to the foul smell. This helps the pilot or spark igniter to light the gas. Try cleaning the holes with a toothpick.

Heating elements eventually burn out. Sometimes, when an element burns out, you can see that the coil burns in too, or blisters and bubbles.

When your heating element burns out, you have to replace it because they are not repairable. If, when the heating element burns out, the infinite switch that controls it also fails, you have to replace it too.

Igniter is made up of a crystal which gets damaged or distorted physically and wont work fine until replaced. This may lead to incomplete combustion of fuel and is a safety hazard.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Oven coil burning hot on one side, popped and started to burn. Is it the coil or something more serious.

It is probably the coil. If liquid or grease spilled on it, that would be a good bet. Coils can be easily replaced, and I would start there before calling a service man. Just make sure you unplug the appliance before replacing it, and then make sure that the new one is firmly plugged in before putting the plug back in. Don't use the damaged coil, it can (probably will) catch on fire if you do.

Automatic oven starter-timer

Hi there. If you have an older oven, it most likely does not have a combination valve with a thermopile, not the same as a thermocouple, or a hydraulic safety. If there is a red button sticking out the panel where your thermostat is, you have a hydraulic safety. What you want can be done with wiring, solenoids, timers, and the correct location in the gas line, but would require a bit of modification. I would only use a servicer for this type of modification, if they will even do it, could you find someone to do it, with little concern about safety? sure, but it must be understood, you are taking the risk, and responsibility. This is definitely not a do it yourselfer task.

Thermostat setting for bakers pride y600 oven.

Hi, those screws are for the calibration of the knob to the thermostat, so your calibration is correct. Most likely you will have to contact a servicer to check the calibration, and set you knob and plate where they will align with the actual temp again.
Hope that helps, and thank you.

Too hot

Hi, not sure if you ever received a reply, but there is a setting known as "bypass" on commercial thermostats, if you took the cover off to replace it, you can access this screw, it is part of the body of the thermostat, either to the left or the right of the knob shaft, usually has a "B" stamped, or molded into the body. What this setting does is when the thermostat reaches temperature, it would normally close, shutting off the supply to the burner, thus the temp would begin to fall, by the time it opened back up, the temp would have fallen too much, causing a large temp swing. The bypass setting opens or shuts a passage that "bypasses" the thermostat main valve, keeping just a little burner, making the swing, or fluctuation smaller. So, you probably have a setting too big, causing your bypass flame to be too big, raising, or keeping the temp too high, try turning it in (cw) to lower it slightly, a small turn makes a huge difference, so go easy. Hope that helps, and thank you.
