I upgraded the OS of my loptop ASUS a9RP from window xp to window 7.The device driver for base system device has not been installed, its because the software included has an OS of window xp and I need the...

Within Win7 Pro and Ultimate there is a in XP Mode. That would mean you can use your old driver howver, before that I would check on the manufacturers web site for your Base System for Win7 drivers. You may well find thet Vista drivers work OK.
Hope that helps.

How to connect to computer

The unit has a parallel port interface and is supported under Windows 95/98/Me, Windows NT 4.0/2000/XP . The drivers are available here: http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/office/laser_facsimile/laser_class_2050_2050p_2060_2060p/laser_class_2060p?selectedName=Specifications#DriversAndSoftware . For the supported OS versions, download the drivers and then run the exe. If it extracts drivers, note the folder in which they are stored. Then launch the Add a Printer Wizard (Printers and Faxes in XP IIRC). If your computer doesn't have a parallel port, parallel to USB adapters do exist.

Neither Vista or Win7 Compatibility Center have the unit listed. The XP driver may work in Vista 32-bit with the compatibility mode on. For Win7 or Vista 64-bit, I'd suggest a second computer, a dual boot computer or a virtual computer with an older Windows OS. For the most setups, you'll need a licensed version of the Windows OS. (Virtual computer software include: Parallels, VMWare and Virtual PC.)

With Win7 Pro or Ultimate, you can download Virtual PC and XP mode from Microsoft for free, then install them in order. The printer will install normally into the XP virtual computer. However, files from the main computer will need to go onto optical media or an external drive in order to share them with the virtual computer for printing.

I hope this helps.

I have a hp pavilion 2120tx with windows 7 and i want to dual boot windows 7 and windows xp [windows 7 first]

You can create a Dual Boot in ur machine....
C: XP
D: or E: or F: as Win7

You need to re-format your disk, back up all critical data in your disk....
once done...boot with XP disk in CD drive....
after format, create multiple partitions....C: , D: , E: etc as per your preference
install XP in C:
once done...start PC and let the machine boot from C: XP...once you get Desktop in XP
install Win7 in D: or E: as prefered....once done..
in the startup screen you will get these 2 options
1 load earlier version of Windows
2 Windows 7
to make Win7 as default, right click on My computer (Win7), Properties / Advancd System Settings / Advanced Tab / Startup and Recovery / Under System Startup - Chose the Default OS by the down arrow and the time to it must be displayed in the startup to chose the OS....by this method you can chose Win7 or Xp to load...make your choice as prefered...

I can't get sound from nc4010 notebook with winVista and win7. sound card working with xp

this sounds like a driver issue, and the solution depends on whether the manufacturer of your laptop has a driver for vista or win7 for the sound controller on your machine or not.

according to hp's website for your device there's no driver for vista and win7, this means that your system is not ready for vista or 7.

unfortanetely it doesn't seem there's any avaliable. the reason is simple, your machine was not meant to have vista or 7, I would suggest for you to stick to xp on that machine. unfortanetelly machines that are not meant to have fast processors and/or high memory capacities (over 1g) are not meant to work with memory hogs os like vista or win7.

sorry I couldnt get the answer expected. post back if you do find an alternatve

I search for a driver vista or win7 for magigcolor

If the manufacturer of the copier does not make a driver for vista or win 7 64 bit, then you can't use it.

I ran into the same problem a few years back when I upgraded to XP pro 64. I resolved the problem by utilizing Microsoft dual-boot feature. When I need to print or copy, I rebooted to my XP 32 bit system to do the work.

Eventually I purchased new equipment that was compatible with 64 bit systems

Replacing the damaged hard disk and restore factory default

You need to load the OS, either its XP or Vista, which ever you prefer and then install all the drivers. Do you have a OS CD.

Vanishing restore points

Well known problem .... if you have a multi boot system with Xp and Vista/Win7 everytime you boot into XP the Vista/Win7 restore points will be deleted.

This only happens if you use the Windows Boot Manager though. I would suggest using a third party Boot Manager to get over the problem.'

I recommend OSL2000 loader which can handle just about any OS on any partition on any disk
