Dyson DC62- I've cleaned all parts of the roller head, checked filters, connections The roller will start then top seconds later. Is there more that I can do or do I need to replace the whole part?

Hi,
Have you checked that there is nothing behind the roller or in the outlet 'neck'/pipe which is still blocking the roller-head.?
Have you checked that the machine is actually sucking properly at the forward nozzle.?
Have you checked that the locking end caps on the brush roller have been twisted back into their 'locked' positions.?
Best of luck

Belts aren't broke roller still won't roll

Belt dosent have to be broke it may be stretched. It needs around 30lbs of pressure to roll the brush on carpet.
If it dose not roll off carpet at all the brush bearing are locked up. You may be able to remove the roller and check theme. Most likely you wil need a new roller brush.

Dyson roller bar locks when vacuuming

On one side there is a round disc with a groove in it. Dyson has a video on this on their site. You use a quarter to open up that disc and it pops out. Then you pull out the beater bar. Use a very small scissors to cut any strings, hairs etc and totally clean it. Replace the bar back in and put the disc on the end, using a quarter again to lock it into place. IF all the rest of the vacuum has been cleaned of clogs then it will work perfectly!

New noise when vac is run

mine was allowing the roller/beater bar to hit the cover as it turned take the cover back off and ensure the beater is in the right place then that the cover is locked in the right place then you can spin it by hand (power cord unplugged of course) and make sure it is clearing everything. BTW, the belt has to be stretched to get the beater bar in place like on most vac.s

How do you install the belt on the kirby vacuum?

Step 1:
UNPLUG YOUR KIRBY VACUUM CLEANER. Before you go any further, take your time with this belt change. It's not that difficult, just a little different than most other vacuums. These belts are very easy to find on the internet. kirby-oldstyle1.jpg Step 2:
You should be facing the front of your Kirby vacuum. The height adjustment lever will be on your right. Push the lever all the way down. Lift the light hood with your left hand. Turn theKirby vacuum belt lifter counter-clockwise with your right hand. Unlock the accessory lock. The accessory lock is located under the light hood. Move the lock to the left to disengage it. Remove the front of the vacuum cleaner.
kirby-oldstyle2.jpg kirby-oldstyle2a.jpg Step 3:
Turn the vacuum belt lifter all the way clockwise until the belt drops down. Unlock the roller plate by releasing the two latches on the rear. Pull the roller plate up slightly and then off. kirby-oldstyle3.jpg kirby-oldstyle3a.jpg
Step 4:
Bend one end of the roller bracket just enough to remove the roller. Remove this end of the roller. If you need to replace the roller take it all the way out. Remove any carpet fiber, string, or hair from the roller with a scissor.

kirby-oldstyle4.jpg kirby-oldstyle4a.jpg Step 5:
After you have removed the old belt, slide the new one back on the middle of the roller. If you're Kirby vacuum cleaner has a belt indicator light, the roller will have a magnet built onto one end of it. It's very important to install to install a roller with a magnet on the same side as the indicator light. The roller actually will only fit into the roller plate one way.
kirby-oldstyle4.jpg Step 6:
Place the roller back in the roller bracket. Place the roller bracket back and lock it into place with the 2 latches. Rotate the vacuum cleaner belt lifter counter-clockwise. You should feel the the belt catch. Look inside to make sure the belt is being stretched onto the vacuum belt lifter. Reassemble the machine. After you have reassembled your Kirby, turn the belt lifter cockwise, releasing the vacuum belt onto the vacuum motor shaft. kirby-oldstyle2.jpg

Electrolux vacuum making a clicking sound when the brush is engaged

Check that there is nothing lodged between the roller brush and the main dirt channel. You may have to take off the sole plate by either locating the cross head screws underneath or if the hood pops off the top - some Electrolux models have screws now located on the top. Once the roller brush is open to your eyes, look at the drive belt and check its condition - it may be on its way out and needs replacing OR the brush roller has clogged up OR the caps which hold the roller brush in both ends of the roller are loose and need a slight tap to lock them back in.

Dont forget to rate this solution. Ty
