Assuming you have a decent flow rate and pressure to the machine from the fill hose I would suspect the hot water valve is faulty

SOURCE: Rinse water barely trickles out of my washer

Do you fill the machine with hot water only?

If so, this is what I suspect. The filters in the inlet hoses on the back of the washer need cleaning. Remove the garden hose connectors, remove filter, clean, replace.

When filling with hot only you get a lot of pressure thru one hose. When you rinse, the best you can do pressure-wise is cold rinse -- but the cold water filter is going to be more clogged than the hot so it delivers less water.

When you use warm rinse, you get mediium pressure thru both lines, again less water than al hot on filling the machine.

SOURCE: Hot water barely trickles into washing machine

Check the hose at the end where it connects to the washer (the inlet valve unit). There may be a screen there also that needs to be replaced or cleaned. If not then the hot water solenoid valve is probably gunked up with the same type of stuff you found in the filter screen. You may be able to clean it enough to get it to work but replacing it is just as easy and not very expensive. (Even cheaper see if you can salvage one from an old machine at the dump or that someone has left at the curb--the units are very standard across many manufacturers in the tU.S.) Both the hot and cold water valves are in the same unit.

Testimonial: "The hot water solenoid valve was the precise problem! Thank you. I told my handy man what the fix likely was and he repaired it for $92. "

Hi,
Take the hose back off more rust and dirt came through because od the volume of water going throgh the pipe and hose. When you take it off this time run some water at full volume in a bucket to flush everything out.

Cold water just trickles out to fill machine, warm and hot settings work fine.

Take the cold water hose off of the back of your washer. Right inside where the hose hooks on there is a screen that often will plug with dirt. Sometimes the hoses have a screen but usually they are just inside the fitting of the washer. Clean the dirt out of the screen and you will be back up and working great!!!

Whirlpool washer approximately 2 1/2 year old

The screen at the cold water inlet is clogged. Cut off the cold water line and unscrew the line to the washer at the washer. Use a flathead screwdriver and pry out the metal screen that is visible Wash it out in a sink and re-install it. Re-attach the water line, turn it on and your'e good to go. If not you will need a new water inlet valve. These are the only things that can cause your problem unless there is a problem with your cold water supply pressure. Good Luck!!!!!

Yes remove the hose from where it connects to washer look inside water valve and remove plastic screen with needle nose pliers Without damaging it. Also make sure that it gets back in proper as the valve will be damaged without it.
