Hi There
After finalizing the DVD, I just get "Please, Wait" on the front panel and DVD recorder door is not openeing at all.
According to the noise from DVD recorder it seems that DVD keeps stop and start rotating.
Tried:
1) Eject butoon on the remote control and on the DVD recorder to open the door
2)unplugged overnight
3)Reset the device by pressing power button longer than 5 seconds(no changes noticed in resetting)
none of the above worked, please advise me what to do.
Thanks
Soheil
For those users who just bought their machines, I would suggest warranty service. Roxanne2 should contact Philips directly with the seiral number, and they should be able to say which store they sold it to. That unit probably has a bad internal DVD writer drive.
The following solution should only be done if your machine is out of warranty unless you get permission from the manufacturer, as it will likely void the warranty otherwise:
Unplug the unit, disconnect all cables and move it to as static-free of an area as possible. Remove the cover, which usually means removing a lot of screws. Most DVD recorders have regular drives like you see in PCs. There is usually a tiny hole in the lower-right part of the drive that you can stick a small wire into, such as an unbent paper clip. You can then manually pull the drive open to get the DVD out.

My DVD Recorder is a Philips DVD Recorder 3440H.
It works fine until I press and hold down the stop button to open the draw, then I get a message on the display which says BLOCKED, and the draw just won't open. I have tried unplugging the machine overnight to restart it up next morning, but still the draw just won't open. I have only had the recorder a few months, but cannot find the receipt to take it back to the store, and I cannot remember if I bought it from Curry's or Dixon's.
we just bought lg rh177, but when we wanted to start it, it just write "please wait" and nothing happening. we can not open it to take a dvd and nothing is working.
