How to setup to tv

Do not put batteries in remote first ,instead plug in ROKU power plug and connect RCA or HDMI cables to Tv.Now put in batteries in remote, push home button on remote it should be sending a signal to your ROKU box, this may take a few minutes. If if it getting a signal a purple screen will show up on TV with the words ROKU in white, hit home button again and it should show connecting on your tv.If it connects it will give you a code ,write this down,it will also tell you to go to a ROKU site on the internet, enter that good on ROKU internet site and it will go through the ROKU account process. You need to give them information like a credit card.Roku will suggest channels many are free others you have to pay for others like HBO,Netflicks. Some have a free week or monthly trial offer,if you don't want them make sure you remove them from your ROKU account before the trial offer or they will start billing you on your credit card. You can search for channels on ROKU tv site.Depending on which ROKU you have you can get up to 2,000 channels most are free.

How to hook up

You do not need a smart tv in order to use the roku. Basically the roku device makes your TV Smart. The basic connection is just an hdmi cable, and some type of internet connection. Depending on the Roku you have, you can either go with the built in wireless, or you can hard wire the internet. The same type of cable that you would use to hook up a computer to your router.

How do I connect my iMac 27" i7

You can buy an optional cable that you can plug into the mini-DVI or mini-displayport port at the back of your iMac.see example picture on: http://www.ecoustics.com/electronics/products/new/570842.jpgFirst you need to be sure to know exact if you have a mini-DVI or mini-displayport. The connectors are different and depend on how old your iMac is. Than you can buy the connector that fits your Mac. The you only need to check the connections on your TV. HDMI or DVI will give the best image quality. VGA is older and will result in a lower image quality. Last, you need to buy a cable between the adapter and your TV.

I have a Roku, which allows me to transfer Netflix films to my TV. Since we no longer have a WiFi it must be attached by wire. I have a Linksys Cisco router. Can yo give me directions on installing both...

Okay, the router "if needed" first. Do you need a router? A router is used mainly to connect multiple devices to one internet connection. The Roku is one, if you have computer(s) also, then yes you need a router. Is the Linksys router wireless?
From the wall the coaxial cable TV/internet cable goes into the cable modem and another coaxial to the Cable box. Wire to the TV as desired. From the cable modem to the router use a RJ 45 cable into the WAN/Internet port. Now use another RJ 45 cable to the Roku and RJ 45's to the other ports marked 1 to 4 as needed for computers. If the Linksys router is wireless you can set up everything wirelessly.
Instructions for setting up the Roku is at the link below.
